Congratulations to the contributors, especially the second half.

Also, I thought of an event regarding Moldavia; of course, since we actually implemented Wallachia, I could research a similar event for it, but for now, only...
1401, Byzantium accepts bishop Iosif as bishop of Moldavia.

Oh, and, offtopic, I suggest you try to have less stickies. Having a half of the page filled with stickies doesn't look too good.

I know but unfortunately there are much threads to be sticked.

Ehm... What do you mean? It was a voivodeship established to the east of Transylvania at about the same time as Wallachia. In my opinion, it was, all-around, less important than Wallachia.

    Oh... well, yeah.
    It happened two times:
    - Once in 1600 with Mihai the Brave; I don't know if he chose any special title. Maybe voivode/domn of Wallachia, Moldavia, and Transylvania (yep, he fetched that one too )
    - Once in 1859 with the Moldavian A. I. Cuza. He proclaimed himself Domn of the United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia (ro: Principatele Unite ale Moldovei si Valahiei).

Yes. Cuza's, as you might have guessed, was "gifted" by the desperate Romanians to Charles of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, who became Carol I of Romania, in 1866, and 11 years later won them independence from the Ottoman Empire (it was about time...).

As far as I know Wallachia was semi-independent at the time of Mircea The Great at the end of the 14 th century from that time on wallachia was a vassal of Ottomans and Hungaria(and Hungaria being a vassal of HRe if I'm not mistaken)

But Wallachia wasn't invaded by the Ottoman Empire at that time, the invasion attempt of Mehmet II the Conqueror was stopped by Vlad Dracula(Tepesh),son of Dracul. So when exactly Wallachia was invaded and conquered by the Ottomans? I can't remember.

According to the information you gave Wallachia gained its independce in 1876,so sometime in history it must have been invaded by the Ottomans.:hmmm:

I haven't played later period very much also.Excepting my long period campaigns, playing with France and England. The reason for it that I have a disease to start over and over again with different factions.

Also I myself was never able to see the new world, too. When I played with all the factions,I left Spain to the last part, since they had "conquistadores" the unit that is perfectly fit for the new World. So only a month ago I played with Spain to the end.(great surprise,I think the motivation of fighting the Aztecs and experience the cool professional units of the Spaniards kept me going. )

However,I couldn't see the new World again, because due to my ignorance I have built a fleet that consisted of some early period, premature ships.I had merged them with the Carracks and Grand carracks.Later I learnt that to be able to go to the New World and invade the Aztecs, you should only have carracks and grand carracks

I'm telling you this so you don't do the same mistake,or you'll end up like me playing a whole campaign with Spain and screwing up going to the Americas

Wallachia wasn't a vassal of Hungary in Mircea's time. It was only under their influence. And neither was Hungary HRE's vassal at the time (of course, this could never be clear enough due to the un-centralisation of the time.
By Vlad Tepes's time, the Ottomans had already vassalised Wallachia, but, true, the Wallachians had to support Hungary also. But Tepes was some sort of distant relative to Matthias Corvinus if I recall. When Tepes was held prisoner in Hungary, Corvinus treated him as a special guest; he even allowed him to marry a noblewoman.

The Ottomans never turned Wallachia into a domain of theirs, because it didn't interest them. So it was never actually under their grasp, but the Ottomans always had to agree with a new voivode when he was elected (yep, it was almost a republic). The height of their attention here was when they actually chose our voivodes; they preferred Greeks from Constantinople, to be precise, from Phanar. You can read more on Wikipedia.

Thank you for the information SirPaladin.Actually I read a book about Vlad Tepesh which gave really deep information about the situation of Europe in the mid 15 th century.
There was really many stuff regarding Wallachia there, unfortunately I forgot most of what I read.

you are listed in the contributer part inside our hearts instead. Remember that moral support is worth more than have your name on a piece of electronics
    Independence, freedom, Aryan republic!
    Socialism, Feminism, Anti-Rascism!
It is the structures of Capitalism who make the class, race and gender struggles neccesary. I personally refuse to accept that I will have approximately 17% less money each month because I am Middle Eastern, I refuse to accept that if a girl is raped the rapist blames it on her clothing, and I refuse to accept that the working class is the slave of the modern society- thats why I believe in Socialism, thats why call myself a Feminist and thats why I am Anti-rascist.
