I leave my warning that I don't believe in this, but there's a curious fact in all this.


The Discordianism is, basically, putting the number 23 in everything.

"The "23 Enigma" is the Discordian belief that all events are connected to the number 23, given enough ingenuity on the part of the interpreter. It can be seen in Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea's Illuminatus! trilogy (there called the "23/17 phenomenon"), Wilson's Cosmic Trigger I: The Final Secret of the Illuminati (there called "The Law of 23s" and "The 23 Enigma"), Arthur Koestler's Challenge of Chance, as well as the Principia Discordia. In these works, 23 is considered either lucky, unlucky, sacred to the goddess Eris, sinister, sacred to the unholy gods of the Cthulhu Mythos, or strange. Discordians regard this as a corollary of the Law of Fives. As with most numerological claims, the 23 enigma can be viewed as an example of apophenia, selection bias, and confirmation bias. In interviews, Wilson has acknowledged the self-fulfilling nature of the 23 enigma, implying that the real value of the Laws of Fives and Twenty-threes lies in their demonstration of the mind's power to perceive "truth" in nearly anything. In the Illuminatus! Trilogy, he expresses the same view: that one can find a numerological significance to anything, provided sufficient cleverness."

Slighty off-topic but arn't there '7' hoyl numbers in science (e.g. isn't some force 7 of a unit of something which allows nuclear fusion in starts to create heavier elements. Although numbers don't have any 'conspiracy' significance, I would argue that they still can be used to show how the universe works.

Also, 42 is the numbers of my birthday (22/08/92) added up, divided by two, minus 19. Am I the overlord of the universe... I don't think so.

I think 666 is an interesting number because it is the only number in Roman Numerals done from most to least (involving the letters it requires, of course.)

In Hebrew the number 18 is "spelled" by the word Ch'ai, which means Life.
But, take 9/11, remake it into 19-1=18!!!!! OMG!!! THIS IS PROOF DA JEWZ HIT THE TRADE CENTER!!!

On a lighter note, whenever I got to Zaxby's (those from the South will know what I'm talkin' about), I get a combo w/ a drink that, with tax, comes out to $6.66. Most people won't even finish the number, just tell me it's like $6.67!
