    Default Name of this spider?

I'm curious as to what the name of this spider is. This pretty was in my backyard. Can anybody help? Nobody in the freaky creatures seems to know...

Here it is. I call it "Skull Spider" for lack of anything else to call it...

It would... had the links worked, or been relevant to what I was looking for.

    Thank you for helping, anyway.

But it does look cool, no?

And it disappeared. No idea where it is now.

    And it was quite huge.

So, it's a Argiope aurantia, huh? Interesting...

Fine, I'll just call it Argie. Thanks for the find.

I just hope her descendants aren't out there still... There's nothing I hate more than doing gardening and coming face to face with one of those things...

Pretty sure they are harmless...scary but harmless......they build there webs kinda high and wide like over doors and I have seen the body as big as 2" without the legs spread out. Will whittle away your local insect population rather nicely.

Thanks, Sosobra. But where? It's already in the Freaky Creatures thread...

And I might as well continue to ask for names on creatures I need ID for, because I'm not biologist, unfortunately.

Here's another one... also from the Freaky Creatures thread. Didn't take the pic, though.

Kissy kissy! Bet you guys can't find out the identification of this one!

I don't think those are legs. Also, legs on centipedes and millipedes are all in a row.

You might try National Geographic ( longshot) or any magazine dealing with animals and bugs.

Oh and bye the way a bug scientist is called a entomologist and Arachnology is the field that deals with spiders and related cousins
