    my choices:

    1. Robert Plant-Led Zeppelin Led Zep may not even in my top 20 bands, but that man could sing
    2. Freddy Mercury-Queen-was there a note he couldn't hit?
    3. James Hetfield-Metallica-part melodic, part metal.
    4. Chris Cornell-Sound Garden/Audioslave-kick ass. 'nuff said
    5. Maynard James Keenan-Tool/A Perfect Circle-I get goosebumps when I hear him.

    Chris Cornell - Audioslave/Soundgarden
    Maynard James Keenan - Tool/APC
Axl Rose - Guns 'n Roses
Zack de la Rocha - Rage Against the Machine
Layne Staley - Alice in Chains, Mad Season

On another note, some of the recent vids around on Youtube, Zack de la Rocha seems spot on, even after 7 years off the radar

freddy mercury -- i gotta agree, he was a helluva vocalist

tony kakko, sonata arctica -- seriusly, if u have not heard this guy sing, search for them. he is jaw-droppingly good and can hit high whatever, totally awesome

axl rose -- i know he's a shocking singer, hahahaha but his voice is jst awesome for a rock band. he's on the list.

bruce springsteen -- legendary. just legendary. no one can top this guy for sheer manpower thru singing.

phil lynott, t'in lizzy -- sadly no longer with us, the god of seventies rock, IMO better than plant, lynott was the bee's amazingly cool and blues-rock knees. lol.
