Hi Guys
I was looking around to see if you have done any voiceovers, or what your perspective is regarding this aspect. I could'nt find anything. Are you going to stick with the vanilla voiceovers ?
EDIT: Changed thread title.

Unless someones want to do them for us, or if the good people as Xenophonia have suitable material then we won't touch this area at all. Maybe we might re-import old sounds from RTW, but thats it.
I can do the voiceovers for Turkish, Hindi, Pashto, Persian, Arabic. I speak Hindi fluently, some Pashto, some Persian. some Arabic. Have experience with all those languages and in general I'm good with languages, having travelled extensively.
I'd be really happy to make this contribution.
Let me know if you want me to do this and I'll start.
I think the most important voiceovers are Turkish, Hindi and Arabic. Specially since Turks never got their "voice" in the TW series. This will also enhance the appeal of the mod, like in MTW where at least the Arabic was fantastic.

Thanks for the offer Sinan. I think there an issue with quality being consistent with sounds. Unless you happend to be some sort of sound engineer with all the equipment, I highly doubt the quality with a normal mic will hold up to the vanilla sounds. Perhaps you could offer your help to the Xenophonia mod instead?
Yes, if you get a sound engineer that can voice over all those languages, that would be ideal. I seriously doubt that the quality will not hold to vanilla with a normal mic and simple program like audacity. I think the quality should be adequate. I'm doing a tutorial for all cavalry/missile cavalry tactics, replays and voiceovers made into a video. The quality is just fine, completely acceptable.
I'm not interested enough in Xenophobia to commit to that mod (specially as I'm not aware they are redoing Eastern factions and there's enough people for doing Occidental languages), but thanks for the pointer.

I think this is best kept for later releases.
@Sinan - Tu sach me hindi bol sakta hai? vah? lekin aap desi nehi ho hainaa?
awesome to have hindi speakers on the board [it just feels weird]
but why wait for 'next releases'. if Sinan isn't helping us in some other way, and he feels like doing these voices then here's what i suggest:
Sinan, if u are aware of which type of things need to be recorded then record them. And they will get implemented later [maybe in later builds yes] but at least if u started working on it now, the work would be done when needed.
That's what i think at least?
okay, thats all i can post now,
cheers

Kya hal hain bhaijan ? AAAAARAAAYYY !!! Hindi kaysay nahin bolonga.
Pakistani to huun ! to pher is ka matlab kay DESI be huun !!!
There is no justification for later release when it can be done now.
Anyway Xeno has gone a longer way than this mod for voiceovers. It would probably help the community more if they did the voiceovers, and BC imported them. However fact still remains that BC needs voiceovers that Xeno does'nt (Persian for example). Anyway I'll see if I'm interested enough I'll volunteer for BC.

On the record: the core team members will not touch anything to do with new voiceovers. There are frankly far more important things that are pending like coding, skinning and many other gameplay related items.
However, if you guys are interested you can go ahead and perhaps do sample voiceovers. If we're impressed we may go ahead and integrate ready-made sound tracks - but we won't make them ourselves.
Its just Broken Crescent has priorities and until those are fulfilled, we won't focus on other work intensive areas like this.
And BTW: Mera naam Mirage hey

Ella Komnenos, you got a point there too.
Qarama, I speak English, French, German, Urdu fluently, Hindi I guess I could say "quite" fluently. I have a working knowledge of Dutch, Italian, Spanish. I've studied and can conduct fundamental conversation in Japanese. Other languages of which I've heard, and consequently picked up some small portions of are Portuguese, Thai, Persian, Arabic and Greek. I know a lot about Punjabi, Sindhi (I am originally from Sindh), Pashto, and very little of Baluch. I've always been in very multi-lingual environments and I've been very fortunate to have seen some of the world. If you asked because of the lines in my sig then note that "Ich nehm mein Schicksal in die Hand Mein Verlangen ist bemannt" are lyrics from Rammstein's fantastic song; Mann gegen Mann. I don't know if you speak German or have heard the song but here's what it means in case you have'nt and don't speak German:-
Mann gegen Mann = Man against Man.
Ich nehm mein Schicksal in die Hand = I take my destiny in my hand/s....
Mein Verlangen ist bemannt = My desire is manned !.
Mirage, dua, salaam aur mubarakbaat.
Khushi hui aap say mil kay.
On record: I agree with you core team members should focus on their primary tasks. It's worthy to note that they won't have to focus on voiceovers as others, like me, could do voiceovers. I have decided that the best community contribution I can make is if I help out Xeno, as you rightly suggested. Xeno can then, hopefully, be imported by other mods if they want to. I am busy with video making at the moment. If I have time and change my mind I'll post Turkish voiceovers for one or two commands, and see if you are impressed. No promises. Perhaps someone else will volunteer for BC voiceovers in the meantime, I hope so.
Khuda Neghayban and thanks again for making this awesome mod.

Merhaba Dostum !
I am a Luxemburger of Pakistani orgin, who lives in Belgium, who does not look like a Pakistani (or so I'm told but that's not what I see when I look in the mirror), who behaves like a European, who thinks like an American, who follows the principles and values of the Orient. Doh !... sorry forgot to mention earlier I speak Luxembourgish pretty well too. Enough about me already though.
Help me out here, Atesh Ackmak (phonetic) is that correct for (indirect literation) OPEN FIRE ! FIRE !!!
Would it would sound like this... ATEAAAAYYYYYYSH (very small pause) AAAAAAACCCKKMAAAK !!!
Aggressive.HOOOAAH !!!
Ohh I'd like to know also (in Turkish of course), TAKE... AIM ! or EYES... ON TARGET ! or READDDDYYY !!! or MAKE READDDDYYY !!!!
Then you can sequence: Ready, take aim, FIRE ! or Ready !, Eyes on.. (choose) targets, Fire !
It might not be so obvious to translate this, but I hope you understand what military commands I'm referring to.
I'm taking "eyes on target" from the Arabic command for take aim. I don't know if it's the same in Turkish.

Hazır ol!!! = be ready!!!
Saldır!! = Attack!!!
ileri! = (go) ahead!
ALLAHALLAHALLAHALLAH!!! = (a war cry)
Nişan al! = take aim
Ateş! = (to) fire!
Hucum (arabic) = Attack
Ateş et! = open fire
Hey sorry forgot to reply. THANKS man ! Appreciate it. I got the pronounciation sorted. If I have time I'll do something, but like I said can't promise anything at this rate.
Qarama listen to this sound file.. how does that voice sound ?

I know it's not Turkish. Just want some feedback on tone.
If anyone else wants to give feedback, do, and don't worry I don't take offence TOO easily.

Try Audacity, ít's free, and it's better than windows.
BTW can you hang around for like 15 minutes please ?
I've completed a pronounciation TEST, and am uploading it shortly.
