Switching side during game

Can we do that? If yes, how? :-) I've tried searching, nothing surfaced. Perhaps because I used wrong keywords?

That tells how to autorun the game. If you want to switch who you control, type in console (w/o quotes) "control <faction>" for the faction you want to control. Then type "control <your faction>" to toggle off control of the original. Beware that when this ability is enabled, if you get attacked the battle will automatically be auto-resolved. Back up the file you edit.
