How do I get full plate armor for my generals' horses

As title, how do I get it? I'm playing with England and I have built the ultimate smithy (don't remember the name) in London, then I retrained my generals, but in battle they looks like the English Knight unit. So, what must I do to get the full plate armor?

I think it depends on the era matey, Full plate is for later in the game

I'm playing in the campaing. How do I see the era in withc I am?

OK, save your game a second, reload it, and on the loading screen it should tell you. If the date is around 10XX-12XX theres a chance you wont get the plate, the 1300's will have the plate im pretty sure...

Or if you go into the faction info scroll it says year

Note that there's currently a bug (version 1.1, haven't checked with 1.2 yet) where it's impossible to get late-era general bodyguards...the ones with full-plate armored horses.

I'm playing LTC (2.1 with M2TW 1.1 patch) and can get upgraded Gens with a Master Armourer (the type with full plate horses). Armour Factory is supposed to upgrade again but I am not seeing any difference.

Is there any way to fix it without installing a mod? I can't use mods because I'm playing the italian version of the game
