Roma Surrectum vs. TE

I've decided to try more mods, and the two that caught my eye the most were Roma Surrectum and Terra Expungade (please excuse me if I misspelt this.) I have already played RTR and SPQR, so I was looking for something new. Can anyone give me advice as to which mod is better?

It depends really on what you're looking for...if you're looking for more units, more skins, a bigger map, a variety of different real-life legions for rome etc then I would go with Surrectum...if you're looking for just a better version of Vanilla RTW then go with TE.

It should also be noted that in Roma Surrectum you're gameplay will move faster due to the 0 turn recruitment addition for units...this will result in larger battles, which will take place more often - thus most AI factions will have 20 unit stacked armies ready to throw at you at all times. Personally I like this faster and more "epic" gameplay more than anything else, but if you like the slower paced and more vanilla-like speed then go with TE.

We are about to release the latest patch, Patch 10 for RS. If you are still interested, hop along to the forums, for it is nearly ready for release, and as a Beta tester, I can assure you it far surpasses all previous Patches.

Yeah, the new version of RS is amazing. I had some of the best RTW battles I've ever played last night, against slave armies no less. It should be released in a couple of days -- and the team is just getting started, we have all sorts of ideas that are going to be implemented in the coming months.

Well ive not played TE all that much but i have tried it an it is a very good mod. Lusted did a fantastic job on that mod

But Rome Surrectum was the mod which just brought me back to RTW and TWC about a week or so ago and id have to say its maybe the best mod ive ever played and with the new patch coming out soon it looks like its only going to get better and better with the improvements to Big Map, unique AoR hoplites to go along with the AoR legion system already in place and improvments to the Free Peoples/rebels factions and slaves meaning there are no simple battles against weak rebels but instead you are up against a determined AI which will happily give you a good kicking for taking them to lightly plus big plans for the future yet to come by the sounds of it. No need for M2TW for me with the RS team working hard!

Thanks guys. I already downloaded TE, but after I heard about the new patch for Roma Surrectum, I decided to get that too. :-)
