Default Total War Community- Post your suggestions, questions, and complaints here!

Greetings modders and TW players alike!

Here is a thread for you to post any questions, suggestions, complaints, etc., that you have about the Total War community and the way it is run.
For instance, if you have an idea for a forum, propose it here. Or, if you have a question about a forum, ask here. Same goes for complaints. Just post here.

Your ideas and thoughts will be taken into consideration all the time. This thread is to assist the Parliamentum in matters concerning the Total War Community, and vice versa. If there is anything from the Parliamentum that is relevant to the Total War Community, then it shall be posted and updated regularly below.

If you think I missed anything at all, just tell me.

We look forward to your feedback!

    Regards, Hader.

    IMPORTANT!!:

For sake or organization, if you have anything you would like to propose, ask, or complain about, please put an appropriate ‘tag’ before your idea. For example:

    Proposal: I propose that………….

    Question: What is the…..

    Complaint: Can we have…..

You get the idea. This will make it easier for me to organize all information from these threads in my reports to the Parliamentum.
    Thanks again!

    Hello Hader.

Nice idea. Seeking improvement via feedback. That would get good marks at appraisal time in the company I work for. Heres my two penny worth....

    Question/Complaint:
Why are the pages on this forum so wide? I cant see all the thread without scrolling. At least I cant see the google adds! No other forum I belong to has this problem (unless someone posts extra large screenshots)

    Request:
If I want a mod this is the overall forum I come to. If I want game play chat I go elsewhere. Could the RTW forum Total War Eras have one section where we talk about the game and game play without every other thread or message being about mods?

    Keep up the good work.

They're not supposed to be wide. The forum pages fit perfectly for me. I'm using firefox BTW. There should be a way for you adjust it yourself. When it comes to wide thread pages, that's caused by many things and we do our best to shorten the width as much as possible.

That's what the RTW General Discussion is for. If there are threads in there about mods, then they are in the wrong place and will be moved to the correct forums shortly. It's the same for the M2TW General Discussions.

Edi Birsan, welcome to the forum, I think you are in the wrong thread at the moment though, this one is for changes to the TWC forums not the game itself. If you are talking about M2 there is a thread here, for requests to CA. If you are talking about RTW then I don't think CA are developing that anymore so you need to see if your request can be done by modding (2nd one might be possible by scripting) ask here, for RTW modding questions.

First, i don't know if this is already suggested, just to have an extra forum-section within the both Hosted Mods forums, which calls for example "Hosted RTW/BI Mods - General Discussion" or just "Hosted M2TW Mods - General Discussion".

    - In example i would like to ask which M2 mods have already a mod folder realised, that actually none of the M2-data folder files are affected.

    - Also, it could be just a chat forum for the several mod makers, or users, which have general questions/interactions to any different mods.

    Hi

    Request:
A little more time before the forum auto logs you out. Several times Ive typed a post, hit enter, only to find the forum has logged me out whilst I was reading/typing a response.

    Proposal Lists:
    Lists: characters/agents/locations
currently when you first click on them they are in some sort of universally useless order.
Wanted: when you put them in what ever sort order you want (by status for characters for example) then close the menu and come back to it, it should remain in the last ordering that you left it. If this is too hard then maybe you
can arrange the agent category to be by default in job category

    Proposal: Advanced set up
Allow for 'x' amount of money to be spent over 'y' amount of turns on a faction or all factions
so that the player has an advanced set up. The money to be spent in the same manner as the computer currently spends money only using a balance/military/financial/growth basis.
This will give a random somewhat set up and allow for advanced armies and strategic settings.

First post updated, not much news though. I am still looking for more to post though. Regardless, still post any suggestions or concerns you have!

I propose that - there be a limit on the number of new threads a member can start per day. Without naming names there have been a few newer members who've been spamming up the place with 4 or 5 threads at a time, barely 1 of which is actually worth replying to. I believe if the forum forced people to be a bit more selective with their topics they'd be more inclined to use the search feature to find already answered questions and might come up with more interesting new topics.

That is what the Report button is for....if someone is spamming topics, then just report them, and a moderator will handle it. If it persists with some users they get warned, which should stop them from behaving like that.

I propose that we streamline the interface of this forum a bit & change the color scheme. I think this forum's really nice, though, with the friendly people (so far).

But I think this could be an even cooler place if we:
    1) Changed the color scheme so that it's not so plain-looking. Perhaps a darker choice of colors.

    2) Streamlining. I think it's cool that we have so many topics to jump to, but maybe we could simplify the choice of categories. When I hit the Jump To selection, I'm kind of overwhelmed by the amount of choices.

For example, we could throw all of the RTW Mod Threads under one Category selection called "RTW Mods" or something (instead of listing every sub-category which looks overwhelming). It just gets confusing seeing all of the hundreds of mod categories listed when I use the Jump To feature.

    3) I think it'd be handy if there was a way we could navigate between each different Forum Category from the top of the screen (in addition to the Jump To option at the bottom). I realize there's an option to access the New Posts and Quick Links, but I was hoping for the freedom to click on whichever category I choose

I really like this Forum. I hope no one gets offended by my suggestions! hehe

EDITED: I just found the Replays section. Sorry, I didn't see it until now.

    P.S.
Did you guys already impliment my #3 suggestion (from my above comment)? If so, that really helps navigating through here MUCH EASIER!

Or has that feature always been there (and I just now noticed it)?

Fair enough - by my own admission I've not been on TWC long enough to really get the feel of the mod's policy on this sort of thing. I've modded other forums before, and am currently a mod of the UK's largest alternative lifestyle forum, so I might be a tad more sensitive to spamming/idiotic users than most! As fate would have it the perceived 'problem' I referred to in my original post has not reared it's head since... might well be a case of me taking a few isolated incidents as an indicator of normality there.

This is not a thread for asking questions pertaining to Total War games, just the Total War part of the site and how it is run.

And I do not know about Vista, cant help you there, but Im sure it should run fine.

That wouldn't work. I think, never tried it before...

Besides, I barely ever start new topics!

Welcome to TWCenter, Barbarian_Prince! Now to try and answer some of your questions:

    1) Changed the color scheme so that it's not so plain-looking. Perhaps a darker choice of colors.
There are three (four counting Barbie skin, I guess) skins you can choose from via user options - try some of those if you are looking for something different.

Those categories are actually all there to help and make navigation easier. I can understand it being overwhelming to a new member, but a lot of time and thought has been put into making the fora organized. Give it a few weeks and see if things start coming to you a little more naturally.

I propose that that we have a Download section where we can upload Replays. On the other hand, this isn't my site, so I don't know how much space is available for such files. It would be a really nice way for us to show each other our great battles though.
Movies or .sav files? There is a misc. section in downloads you can use for whatever you wish, so long as it is within the size cap and abides the ToS (ex: no warez or cracks)

    P.S.
Did you guys already impliment my #3 suggestion (from my above comment)? If so, that really helps navigating through here MUCH EASIER!
What exactly are you talking about?
