where can i create Spartan Hoplites

im playing as the greek_cities in a campaign and i just wnat to know what citys i can greate Spartan Hoplites in other than Sparta and Syracuse is there any other city's i can greate them in ???

i thought that you make them if you build the right buildings and have enough people/money

I thought they were only recruitable from Sparta. Well anyways check the building browser for the highest level barracks.

AFAIK, the answer is "no".
There is a hidden resource called "sparta" for the cities of Sparta and Syracuse only. It's the same thing with 1st cohorts for Rome, they are also only recruitable in Roma herself due to a hidden resource.

Is there a way to mod that 'hidden resource' of First Cohorts into other cities? Would be nice...

I haven't downloaded XGM and it looks great. and I thought it was rather obvious spartan hoplites came from Sparta not Athens.

I can't check the files right now, but the first cohorts (the spartans also) require a hidden resource as build prerequisite. I think it's "rome" in case of the FC. Remove it in the units.txt and you should be fine.

Or you could play he game properly and not be able to recruit Spartan hoplites from say Antioch.

No,You can only recruit them in sparta and syracuse but you can change this...

Hidden resources must be added manually
