    Default driver

Whenever I turn on my computer, the found new hardware wizard pops up, but it doesnt tell me what hardware it found, and it cant find drivers for the hardware on its own. Is there a way to find out what hardware doesnt have drivers? I've just reformatted and reinstalled windows completely fresh.

    Specs:
    ASUS motherboard of some sort
    A64 FX-55 2.6 ghz
    X850XT
    2 GB RAM

And here is the list of programs in my add or remove programs.

Go to My Computer then on the left your see a tab called "System Tasks" click View System Information then new window will open and there be quite few tabs (on you need is Hardware) click hardware tab then click Device Manager. Once device manager opens go to other devices and look at any devices - Windows has found but can't install due not having the devices, it will have yellow ? to easily tell you

Well the Multimedia Audio Controller is problem that the sound card drivers are not installed like AC 97 drivers e.g. on-board sound. You could looking at your drivers on your installation CD or reinstall 7.1/7.2 again. am sorry am not more help

Those are all on board components that you activate or de-activate in your bios. If you have external sound card then you can just disable those settings in your bios. If you actually use your onboard ethernet/ sound and raid config you will need to load the drivers off your motherboard driver disk.

I have an SB Audigy 2 sound card which I use, as well as a network card, so I dont use onboard sound or network. So I will disable those.

    What is the RAID thing?

Raid is a utility (also in bios) that lets you configure twin hard drives in special arrays, whether for data redundancy or speed. You don't use it so just disable raid in your bios also.

    Ok.

I have an ASUS, A8V-E VIA K8T890 Motherboard, does anyone know where I can get the ASUS chipset drivers for it? I thought they would be on the ASUS CD but I can't find any mention of them on it.

Or is there a way to find if I already have them installed?

There are no asus drivers. There is via chipset drivers for your board and possible amd/pentium cpu drivers depending on which one you have. Go to Via.com and dl latest set. Asus is the company that manufactures the board so you go to Asus and find updated drivers for your particular mainboard.

Do what sdjenkyn said, they are all available at the Asus website.
You can disable the RAID controller in your BIOS, and the online sound.
The ethernet controllers are the built in network ports on your motherboard. (Or more precisely what the motherboard uses to activate those ports).

Well I've got it all figured out. The chipset drivers were on my ASUS cd, in the "4 in 1 VIA drivers" thing. It just doesnt say chipset anywhere so I was confused.. lol
