    Default Shocking new attribute in Rome Total War!

    Okay so I have been vigorisly (T3H 5P3LlInG sUx)working on my map for a few days now and no matter what I do units always climb over hills and flank me I am trying funnel all of the enemys into a little corridor and no matter what they always climb over the mountains I made or boulders I placed and flank me !


    I have set them up so no generals have any experience but they still no how to flank they will go any where besides that little pass I made

    is there a way to make restrictions for units so they cannot climb and only move foward??
    \How can I edit the units to suck at climbing!

    Well, there's no 'suck_at_climbing attribute.' (Dang that would have been too easy )

    Still, this sounds like it might be a custom map you made in the battle editor? If so try making a historical battle which has a rally point for your enemies right near your unit deployments.

    Outside of that, it's hard to say. Maybe give the flanking units slower skeletons in the dmb so that you have more reaction time? Not sure...

    this is a historcal map

    so youre saying if I have a huge rally point which it is they can flank me but If i make there unit spwan place small they cant go beyond it?

    While i have no idea how maps work....can't you just make cliffs (which extend past the map boarders) either side of a narrow(ish) path. I presume you are making a 'hot gate' scenario. I have seen a fort set into a sheer wall, not that you want a fort but you do want a sheer wall.

    Yes the Hot Gate is what it is indeed

    The first wave of persians does what they supposed they run right into the Spartan Shield and are massacred

    however the rest hit the sides of the spartans and are not taken down by my Phalanx rather by the short swords the Spartans have then they pick at my sides run away come back and it takes forever to kill them all

    I made huge cliffs but they still and climb them thats why im saying im getting sick of this awesome climbing ability taht the units have which is unrealistic

    well bigger pics would be nice, but i think the answer to your problem is going to be to make the face of the cliff, rock, so it's not climbable, bearing in mind i have no idea what I'm talking about, but i know a man who might be able to point you in the right direction.

    That is really bizarre and just 'wrong', but I think Halie Satanus has a point here.......it may be that the composition of the terrain has something to do with a unit's ability to traverse it. If that was a rock faced cliff, I'd bet they wouldn't be able to do that.

    Yes, of course!

    I have been working for weeks now and nothing works....

    I made the where the units spawn signifintly closer the the mountain pass it works but only a certain amount of units can spawn there the rest will 'climb' the mountains.

    I hope to be done with this map by mid May even if I'm not done by then I at least release a beta of the map...
