    Default Unit Size Problem and CTD

    I had to start my campaign over after mysteriously my save game would not load at all. I tried and tried to load my saved game but all that would happen is the game would go back to the main menu instead of loading the game. No clue to why this happened.

    When I re-started, I switched unit size from normal to large (I was playing with normal). However, since then, I suffered 2 ctd's after finishing battles - basically I got to the losses screen where you can view the stats of the battle, and clicked on the continue button that brings you back to the campaign map when it crashes. After the crash, I can't even re-load a save point following the battle - the save is always right before the battle. Furthermore, when I am in battle and voom in on a unit, the individual figures disappear, leaving only the unit flags........I never experienced this problem before, but I am thinking that its my video card. When I detect my best video performance, it gives me large unit size as the best setting, so I am confused. I guess I am going to be stuck playing with normal unit sizes - that sucks.

    r u sure it is ur graphics card etc? my recommended setting was large with normal detail and no anti aliasing etc but i play on huge unit sizes and high on everything (no anti aliasing it causes lag) no gloss maps or any xtras below usual options except units use shaders (cant stand the pointy legs lol!)

    my graphics card is fairly low-end compared to some of the posted specs

    Nvidia Geforce LE6600
    1 gb ram
    pentium 4 CPU 3 Ghz

    so nothing special at all......

    hope this helps!

    ps check the brand of ur graphics card because some types have led to severe bugs and crashes!

    Nvidia cards \though work better with RTW without a doubt

    My video card is a Nvidia GeForce 4, with a 2.133 GHz processor. It should be just right for playing........

    ok but what card is it. is it a 6600gt, 7900GS etc.

    Ops, sorry, a 6600gt.

    And another odd thing that happens is that the game sometimes minimizes to the desktop - not actually crashes, but minimizes to the task bar.

    No, I nver thought of that. But if I have to I'll play with normal unit size. Its still fun, though w/o the massive battles.

    U should be able to play on large. im using an x300 SE and i run on medium high, with unit sizes on large. ur card is much better than mine so i dont see any reason y u shouldn't be able to play on large at the very least.

    scroll down and u will see mine at 100 lol while urs is 55.
