Coolest fictional military, unit, or character?

What is in your opinion the coolest and meanest military, unit, or character you have ever seen? Anything from Universal Soldiers to Stormtroopers.

Personally I love Tau firewarriors most. Their plasma rifle and battle suit are cool!

As far as units- Imperial Stormtroopers from Star Wars. They really don't deserve the bad reputation they got from the movies. There are legitimate reasons they appear so dumb in those. In the expanded universe novels, they are shown in their full potential, and they are pure badass.
Most especially, the 501st Legion, "Vader's Fist", as showcased in Star Wars Battlefront 2, are the most badass of the stormtroopers. I mean, they kicked the **** out of the Jedi at the temple assault, beat down the rebels on Yavin's moon, and whupped the rebs on Hoth. That is a damn good battle-record.

Second to them, I'd say the Space Marines, but only because I don't know enough about them. They seem pretty cool, though.

The Ashaman in the Wheel of Time. Ultra-powerful, arrogant and cocky, and with immaculate style...

The Marines in the Aliens movies. They were so badass.
