Best experience with Romans?

Hi,

I fancy playing a bit of campaign and decided RS is the one for me, so i'm reinstalling Rome and downloading 1.3 as I type Looking around, the legions system looks great, but I'm wondering if the Greeks have anything similiar? I've always preferred phalanxes to the gladius, obviously though I'm sure either will be great, but ye, is it best to do my first campaign with the romans?

The Greeks do have different hoplites for different cities - Syracuse, Athens, Sparta, Tarentum, Pergamum is all of them I think, but they don't have something like the Legio system.

I would play as Rome first. There a hell of alot of fun. Phalanxes are evil But the greeks have very unique hoplites. But Rome has a even more unique legio system.
