Spartacus, I'd have to say, but maybe it was just the environment (year 10, bored, elective history class), shoddy acting and a painful departure from fact... As my teacher perfectly described it:
A ham and cheese movie...

Best worst movies I've ever seen:
1) Crocodile 2: Death Swamp
2) Death Race 2000
3) Escape From LA/Escape From NY
4) Deep Blue Sea
5) The Delta Force Series
6) The Navy Seals Series
7) Snakes on a Plane
8) Anaconda
The Star War Holiday Special. The epitome of bad. It was so incredibly terrible, that it passed *beyond* the "so bad it's funny" stage. To put it in perspective, the first 20 minutes of the movie is in Wookie, with no subtitles, and no body language to signify what's happening.
Harbringer
Your future is in my hands
Braveheart
The Patriot
Almost anything made by that little pipsqueak Gibson.
Mel GIbson is a LEGEND!!!!
You just don't like it that he bashes the english.
Mel is half insane half genius.Anything he does is interesting as you don't know what he could do.He is in my mind the most interesting film director in the world at the moment.

Thats true! Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the Mad Max films and recently watched Apocolypto and had to force myself not to enjoy that. But for me, he overstepped the line with those other 2 travesties that I mentioned, the little tart.
When he was arrested drunk recently, I think he'd just recieved my e-mail informing him that I would no longer be purchasing anymore of his DVD's.![]()
His drunk tirade and arrest just made me like him more and determined to watch all of his movies!
GO MEL!
1) 'Frailty' starring Matthew McConnaghey and Bill Paxton. I actually went to the damned cinema to see it - sat there feeling more and more embarrassed and unclean from its inferior ****-ness.
2) 'Eurotrip'. "Scotty doesn't know...that he's starring in a **** film...this embarrassing garbage is MAKING me ill...Scotty doesn't know, Scotty DOESN'T knoooo-ooooow...'
3) 'The Patriot'. A sickening swamp of weak-minded sentimentality and drudge-cliche of the worst, silliest kind. It wouldn't have mattered if the indomitable 'Ghost' was killing Martians rather than British - it would still have been unutterable ****. That moment at the end when the bigot turned and said to the black rebel at the end 'It was an honour to serve with you. An honour.' Oh, for CHRIST'S sake.

mel gibson movies are entertaining, youre not supposed to take them seriously. Mel Gibson gets emotion right in his movies, both braveheart and the patriot made me get choked up. Braveheart especially, the ending...awww...so sad...
And the brits dont like the patriot because they think that the redcoats are unfairly represented, what with being picked off so easily by prepubescent boys and all...
But imo the brits were protrayed kindly in that film, the only brit demonized was the antagonist col. tavington. Every other brit in that entire movie was kindhearted and chivalrous and/or wily.
the only beef i had with the whole movie was the whole locking up the villagers in a church and setting fire to it, which didnt happen. manly because not only is it false but if theirs any other way to anoy the religious right of america its burning americans in a church and i am sure some people base their opinons of the uk on that scene
They had to do that to make tavington look more evil, if you knew some of the evil deeds that the Swamp Fox Francis Marion(mel gibson character) was guilty of in real life you wouldnt think that fictionalizing a church burning scene would be that bad in comparison.
"This controversy derives in part from comments made by British historian Christopher Hibbert at the time of the movie's release. Hibbert described Marion as "very active in the persecution of the Cherokee Indians and not at all the sort of chap who should be celebrated as a hero. The truth is that people like Marion committed atrocities as bad, if not worse, than those perpetrated by the British.""
