    Default Hard or Very Hard

With the leaked patch 1.2 and LTC 2.2 on VH/VH I always manage to get kicked all over the place by my neighbours. They usually team up against me and my relations go to very poor with every faction even if I don't have anything to do with those countries.
So...I'm thinking about starting a H/VH campaign but I fear that might then be
too easy and the campaign AI too passive. Is it passive? Is it hard? At least that hard that I can somehow have a friend and maybe even ally with someone (in my russian campaign everyone hates, I haven't started a war, very poor or abysmal relations).

I personally play on medium with 1.2 as the diplomacy is more reasonable, but hard should be alright as well.

On VH you have to maintain the relationships with your allies in order to keep the relations the same or improve them. Royal marriages is one way of doing this, but I think you'll find it interesting how appreciative a constant stream of ducats is. The same thing goes for the Papacy which is key if you're playing a Catholic nation.

Once you get your relations with your allies up to Very Good or better, they become very agreeable.

I play on H/VH, not too many problems concerning diplomacy, pretty peaceful neighbors, almost no backstabbing... if you're concerned about it being too easy perhaps you should focus on how to play better on VH/VH.

Besides, I suppose lowering the difficulty will make other aspects (besides diplomacy) easier as well, reducing the overall challenge. For me it's OK because I don't like to spend ages planning every move and I like small mistakes to be forgivable...

Maybe someone who's tried out M/H/VH could say more about the differences?

I think another change is the Kings purse in every different setting, so more wealth for lower settings .

Ok I'll start a campaign with VH/VH but think about russia: Its orthodox factions so other factions don't really like you that much. Mongols are coming, and I have a hard time surviving danish and polish invasions, so either way I think I'm screwed. Pope is not supporting me and stopping catholics attacking me etc...
    I'll start a sicilian campaign...last one didn't go so well .

Playing as the Danes on VH/VH and it's utterly brilliant. I'm at war with all my neighbours apart from France whom I managed to secure a wedding alliance with. Spain and Portugal have sailed armies halfway across Europe to have a pop at me and HRE, England and Poland have sent full stack after full stack at me and the pope is threatening me with exocumminication. Scotland are brewing up something aswell as boats are fast approaching Arhus. The only thing that bugs me is that both Spain and Portugal have allied with the Moors and are sending armies against me when there are still rebel controlled provinces around their homelands

I'm also playing Danes on VH/VH and the diplomacy is off the hook. Everybody wants a piece of me. Fortunately, I have a damned good economy now to buy their friendship. The thing saving me is the Danish starting position. It's easy to defend. I've also taken England, but it's not as safe, as Portugal, Milan, Spain and even Poland have landed armies there. Their armies are mostly poorly constituted, having lots of militia and only a sprinkling of better troops. That's good, because they're easy to beat. That's bad, because they're easy to beat. (Note: Lusted, I'm sure you've read thru the Stainless Steel forums; the AI in it manages to make pretty decent armies; maybe King Kong would share the trick.)

If I were to play a country with scads of potential enemies around me, say Byzantium or HRE or Hungary, I'd play on H/VH.

Hi all, I'm new to this mod and I'm going to start my first campaign, propably with Venice. I just like to know if if this mod is more difficult than vanilla m2. I would like a difficulty level for the campaign that is something between VH and H of the original campaign.
