Default Too many sieges in MTW2

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like 75% of the battles I fight are sieges, and this has been a problem since Vanilla in my opinion. (Hoping that in 1.98 the AI will be throwing more full stacks my way). Seems there are a few things that could possibly be changed.

1-Every city is able to build walls. If anyone is familiar with an RTR mod called the metropolis mod, it only allowed big cities to build walls making some regions more important then others. One thing this did was force the player to fight more open battles at their borders to keep their smaller Villages from being overrun.

2- Granted this probably isn't moddalbe but just a thought. Has anyone played Lords of the Realm 2, granted it's a bit of an antique but one nice thing it let you do, was this. Each province, had a castle/city like in total war, but each province also had villages, farms and mines that were not protected by the handy walls of their castles. This allowed invading armies to sack village, farms, mines, etc. before bothering with laying siege.
I realize this probably is impossible to implement but it would certainly be a good motivator into getting those lazy governors of their butts and into the field to protect the kingdom.

The quickest route may not always be the most fun.

It has been a problem. The AI has been tweaked to try to defend it's borders in TLR to help with it.

    1. I don't like limiting specific cities like this. I'd rather make it expensive to make walls that way the player has to carefully choose which to upgrade.

    2. Not doable. It would be nice though.
