i no WHY R THEY SOOOOOO ******* BIG! they are about 100 times the height of a man!! i think there is no way to make them smaller such as you could in Stronghold for example....
the only way you can see is to zoom all the way in under the canopy otherwise you cannot see your men. However after doing this it becomes harder to control your army because there are sooo many trees!!! esp if you have all terrain and vegetation on high......
im alright with them being big but im not alright with there not being an option to make them smaller like u could in strongold which i might reinstall in a sec...
im surprised no one mentioned, before medieval 2 was released, this idea on the official CA forums...
You shouldnt fight in the trees anyway, because your romans will have a penalty against them and you will take more losses if not lose the battles. Same with Winter!
Thats funny cause i beat a full stack galic army in the woods with my army consisting of mostly Hastatii units, 4 calvary units and 4 missile units plus my general. I took 230 loses and killed 1700 of them.
Im playing on large though...
Also in some situations the damm terrain makes it so u r forced to fight in the woods....

well i guess you could also argue that it kind of adds to realism in a way, since it was probably difficult to command an army deep in the forest...line of sight was probably terrible, and since the big trees force you to zoom in to be able to adequately control your forces, it kinda makes sense...at least you can rationalize it that way![]()
rep me if you like my posts, and it's highly likely you'll get some back
You make a good point, but i still don't think every forest of Europe should look like the damn Yellowstone park.![]()
The thing I dont like is it seems many of my cities are surrounded by forests, and when I try to break a siege on one of my cities, the enemies are in a forest besieging us, so we are forced to attack them there.. lol
Hastatii I think dont get the penalty neither do Auxilia units, its the Legions that suffer along with Principes/triarii.
The german forest back them were pretty larger, remember that serious logging happened latter in History and alot of trees over there are Actually Young compared to the originals.
