what r ur specs and what graphic settings r u running the game on?
i Have the same problem i installed it but when i get into an imperial campaing it crashes i can play the turtorial.
It may have to do with the installation instruction:
Make sure you play the tutorial or set first time play to false before installing.
Did you do that?
ALSO you cant play the Prologue after you install you must play that before, or you could just change the First Time play to False in the preferences.txt. ;-)
Make sure to check your install methods you may need a complete reinstall of RTW you should try to install Mods or mods either or you can get some weird stuff happening.
pentium(R)4 cpu 1.70GHz
1.69 GHz, 512 MB of ram
on a crappy 64 MB ati radeon 7000 that normally plays the game fine on the lowest graphical settings. and yes, i set first time play to false
Jeez those specs r the problem. This mod needs better overall specs than the original version of RTW to work well. I've got an amd 3200, 1 gig ram and a crappy ATI x300SE and it can run it on medium with some settings on high like unit detail and effects.
Have u tried settings the graphic settings to the absolute lowest settings like no grass, smallest unit sizes etc.

my video card is a 7600 geforce gs i dont think its crappy i can play this game without to much lag battle lag i mean. so do i have to play the prologue first?
im running on large unit sizes though.
thx do i have to paly the original game then install mod?
u dont have to play the original, u just have to update it to V1.5 then download the mod and then set "first_time_play" in ur preferences.txt file found in ur RTW directory from true to false.

This is driving me nut my first time play is set to false but it still crashes if i can get it to work ill say. I 've done everything correctly but im going to reinstall the game again if it doesnt work than the hell with it. My patience level starting to drop must be the scottish side of the family.
Make sure you set 'AUTOSAVE:FALSE' in preferrences.txt.

I finally got the damn thing to work im so happy and i like this mod so far kinda hard at first but fun im impresses with it
i also wondering when are the reforms is it a historical thing or do i build an Ip in any roman city?

it is a bit tough at first...but challenge is a good thing right? anyway, stick with it, things will slow down after the initial rush...giving you a buffer to build up.
after that though, get ready for a wild ride![]()
Reforms are neither historical nor tied to a date... You only need one IP built in any Italian or Sicilian city to trigger the reforms![]()
btw this is to everybody getting random CTDs due to VC or CPU not being able to handle the mod:
1- DISABLE battle map shadows and detailed unit shadows from 'Video Options' menu. You still get basic shadows in the game.
2- DO NOT quick save or auto save the game. Instead hit 'ESC' and use the menu save options.
I have a dual core processor with Nvidia 7900gt and I was getting random CTDs until I disabled this two settings which are bugged. I rarely get a CTD now![]()
