Taking heed of the great notion of Novogrodian migration, I decided to not transport my faction to the British Isles, but the the Mediterranean. My reasoning is as follows:
See, the Novogrods (my faction's populace) are tired of being confused as Russians. They are a perfectly able people, but resent the land they live on for their common misconception. Resenting the whole of Eastern Europe, they hold a grand council of all the nobles and elders of the land to come for a great convocation. Most decide to pack up, and move out... on the Great Journey.
Many years pass on their voyage to the Promised Land... and the memory of their home drifts off into myth and legend. Finally, they arrive at an island called Corsica, near the large castle of Cagliari . Here they decide to settle. However, the Sicilians have plans for that isle as well. Truly the Christian nation of Sicily will not lay harm onto another Christian brother?
The Migrators siege the fortification, and win a glorious victory! (which IMHO should be the next step above "Heroic", but wtvr)
But those worthless cur, the Sicilians, siege our own settlement right after we claim it as rightfully ours!
Our princess escapes, and pleads with the Catholic Pope to intervene. The ships take refuge behind the Papal Territorial waters. Surely the Sicilians will be wary and keep their distance...
The Sicilians attack with two, well-trained, elite armies of vile dogs! How can we survive such a perilous condition!?
Our King dies of disease in the siege. A modest death in troubling times. Perhaps the Migrators will give up all hope...
We emerge victorious! Our neighbors shall kneel at the passion of the Migrator's valour!
The princess, finding the Pope a spineless whimp, rushes to the Sicilian capital to sue for peace. She pleads, and offers some valuable territory in the north...
Hooray! 54 years after they embarked on their Great Journey, the Migrators have settled in the Promised Land. This marks the start of a great new Empire!
More to come...
*EDIT*- BTW, why does the "Faction Leader Dead" thing say that my leader might go to purgatory? Don't Orthodox Christians not believe in the existence of purgatory?...
