How many years do you think remain before America falls?

I am American, but I see our country going to hell...

I'm 15, but I am sad to see most of the kids over here, most my age with less braincells than a rock. Rude, get mad over anything, talking about things they should NOT be doing...

We can not trust our government, and the war on 'terror' is just a cover up until we get something more important.

I think we are like the Roman Empire.

I big, powerful country, slowly going into corruption, until it destroys us, just like the Romans...

I also think we are WAY over confident.

Can you draw the parallel between America and Rome?

I give it, maybe, another 100 years.

war91, don't discount your intelligence, everything you said is on-point. Except the US is closer to the Roman Republic, but its slowly becoming an Empire, especially since the Cold War.

I'll say between 50-100 years before the US falls.

This isn't calling America an empire but every country has its decline. However its hard to see that. You don't see countries fall from grace and than get conquered in the modern era. Its really hard to say. Honestly America will at least be a major power for at the very least a hundred years. Its hard to see a country like this one "fall".

Its fairly easy for me to see it. The United States is waiting for civil war, just think about Aztlan, the Mexican promise land, gaining a lot of followers too, in the lower millions from rumors.

Not just that, you never know when barbarians might conquer this nation.

We just view our times as different because we're not seeing it through a camera or text as with older empires, but nations rise and fall as they've always have.

Fall of America? Not for a really, really long time. I predict America will last until the end of the world. And that will be within the next 800-900 years, so not very long as some nations go.

America in it's current form? Who knows. The nation will last, but who knows what type of government it will have.

The hyperpower of America will last another hundred years or so.

USA Empire will still remain the strongest in the world for at least 50 more years in my opinion. After that it may still be strong but there will be a few others that are as strong.

Maybe 100 years like everyone else said, then the EU will take its place or there will be several wars to determine the successor to the US. China and India are too top heavy with no real infrastructure to become a world power.

It'd goddamn impossible to predict what will be 5 years from now, much less 100.
America will fall at some point, all civilizations do.
As for kids being dumber than a rock, first of all, they're kids.
Second of all, you aren't the first to say that about your generation and you certainly won't be the last (sorta like people were claiming that the Waltz is immoral back when it first became popular; scapegoats change, basic types of outrage don't).
After all, how many people in 1950 would correctly predict when and why the USSR would fall?
Same with Fascist Italy in 1930.

Considering the fact that we are doing almost everything the Roman Empire did in verbatim, and the fact that the Roman Republic lasted about three hundred years, which is almost how old America is (yes, I know that I'm off by about sixty or so years) before it became a truly vast empire...

I believe that we fall in just the same fashion the Romans fell.

They succumbed to illegal immigration.
They allowed the barbarian tribes' children to become Romans without fully initiating them into the Roman culture.
They screwed over their domestic producers, opting for cheaper materials, like importing cheap wheat from Africa.
They stopped trying to increase their population, aborting their babies, with everybody just having drunken sex parties all the time.
They allowed corruption in the military.
They decided not to keep their military up with the civilian populace. They cut funding for the troops still left around.
They became lax in their judicial systems.
They eliminated their gold/silver standards for their money, leading to massive inflation.

I don't know about you, but I'm scared as hell.
