Default Barbarians who Build STONE Walls

If it is even possible, and if anyone is willing to help me, I would really like for Barbarians to be able to build stone walls. I am all for history, but the reality of the game is as my factions develop, it is hard to continue with a convincing story for me if i don't have them building stone walls at some point.

    My question is:

Can I somehow rewrite a file or etc to make it so Barbarians - in particular the Casse or Aedui, can build at least one level of stone wall?

For those who will declaim that I have betrayed the historical purity of EB with this request........... Maybe I have... but not really, cause within the EB time period at the very least the Gauls were building stone walls even if it was under Roman influence,

and it is more historically inaccurate to continue playing a game with an empire that spans Europe but can't build stone walls

not looking for debate though, looking for someone who makes code his ***** to pass me the answer joint

I agree, but I'd prefer it to be built into a reform. Etc. After you have a certain amount of settlements that had stone walls, or stone roads, you could then learn, and evolve.

I know some kind of trigger like that can be made, because it was in another mod I had.. Been a while.. I don't think it would be -easy- though, I know every thing that goes into a mod successfully was fought for tooth and nail.

Yes, if EB wanted to include something like that Peltasti it would definately make some people happy -

I am more looking for a quick, private tweak - just me and my stone walls and maybe an underag& #&X!(@^ %ooker

The Gauls had some reasonably impressive walls and EB has been attempting to implement Gallic Oppida (Gallic Stone Walls) for some time / several years now.

They had at least two modellers working on this project in the past and proto-types had been made, but never implemented due to problems. I'm not sure where they are up to atm.

Unfortunately walls can't be reformed triggered, because the requirements are the same for all factions and thus it would require that all faction must wait for the Gallic reform to get walls. (I hate the non-working 'or' command.)

The celts of Gaul (Arverni & Aedui - not so much Casse) had stone walls. However celtic stone walls were not cut, polished white stones that stood 80 feet tall. EB is planning on making more realistic wall for the celts. There is current work.

If you wish to add stone walls yourself, you can. Go into ...\Rome - Total War\EB\Data\export_descr_buildings.txt (back it up first) and look for this entry:

stone_wall requires factions { romans_brutii, egypt, romans_scipii, carthage, parthia, numidia, thrace, greek_cities, macedon, romans_julii, seleucid, saba, } and hidden_resource city and building_present government or building_present_min_level nomadsett smallstlmnt
Add "gauls," to the end for Aedui, "scythia," for Arverni, "britons," for Casse, and/or "dacia," for Getai. So it looks like this:

stone_wall requires factions { romans_brutii, egypt, romans_scipii, carthage, parthia, numidia, thrace, greek_cities, macedon, romans_julii, seleucid, saba, gauls, } and hidden_resource city and building_present government or building_present_min_level nomadsett smallstlmnt
You will now have stone walls available for your given choices. I'm not sure if they'll have pictures (may be roman barracks pic). And they won't show up on the strat map, but they should be there in battle. If you want them to show up on the strat map, then you have to alter the culture file...

Thank you Marcus - the strat map would be nice but it sounds like that is more complicated, and having the walls for battle is really the key element in the end.
I will just have to pay attention and remember to check what's where every once in a while. Your directions are fantastically easy - that I really thank you for.
