With all due respect, since you posed this question in the Long Road's subforum, you're going to get a bit of a ... biased response.
The Long Road all the way, man. I've tried quite a few others, and the first time I played TLR mod, I've never looked back.
I vote for The Long Road.
Seriously, I guess it depends on what you like. If you're looking for a long campaign and a challenge, give it a go.

tbh im in no position to judge which is the 'best', but i downloaded Deus Lo Vult and i thought the titles/banners etc wer rele effective and well-thought-out; hell, if any of the other mods do this then the same level of impressedness to them 2![]()
i prefer Rise Of Kings, actually. It is a combo mod. TLR = a close second.
the most advanced one as a medieval simulation is AnnoDomini

BareBonesWars 8.1 for RTW 1.5

Deus lo Vult DLV 6.2 for MTW II Kingdoms
Norway+Ireland+Flanders+Kiev+Lithuania+Teutonic_Order+Armenia+Crusader+Georgia,1y2t script, army field costs, Ultimate AI 1.6, big map, military career, economic system, age simulation, heraldic system, new factions, garrison script, Crowns + Swords, Trait bugfixer, religion dependent recruiting, ancillary enhancements, darth battle mechanics
I played the Lands to Conquer Mod, but hands down TLR is a much vaster, more imersive and challenging mod. If you like a challenge with a bit more depth it is the only way to go.
