Hey all, I'm a big fan of indie music, and was wondering how many of you people are as well. I'm creating this thread in the hope that people can share good indie bands with each other, we all know how hard to find some of them can be. It seems we have a decent number of fans here judging from empty's thread on The Arcade Fire and the talk of the Decemberists.
Here's a band I'd like to share.
Margot & The Nuclear So and So's. If you like The Decemberists, you'll like them. Even if you don't, you'll still like them. Their sound is unique from most indie bands, and their song writing is quite good. Have a listen.
Myspace
Quiet As A Mouse--Great song, amazing video.
Live Skeleton Key
Comments on this video:
indie's best kept secrettechnically they're not indie, havn't been since they signed their deal. they're on Artemis Records which is now owned by Universal/Seagrams.
so they're a major label band.
unless you're using "indie" as a genrea classification, which is kinda wrong but done sadly.
I just see them as an acousticly driven, roots-pop band
*shrugs*no one cares what you think![]()
Talking In Code
A Sea Shanty Of Sorts
This video is just a fan made one, the talking at the end is not part of the song. But this song is my favorite from the new album The Dust Of Retreat, so I had to include it.
Hope you like them, post more good indie bands!
