The Decemberists.
Svelekameratane.
Tool
Margot & The Nuclear So and So's
Arctic Monkeys and Muse.
Rage Against the Machine (though they broke up late 2000)
Still, they're the best of all the 2000's bands.
Except for maybe wolfmother

They all suck. I can't think of one song I've liked since Nirvana. Well, there was one song that's been stuck in my head the past month straight, but I don't remember the name of the song, who song it, or most of the lyrics, and all attempts to find it have proved fruitless.

If you mean by band formed in the 21th century:
The Mars Volta. Hands down.
The Arcade Fire
Of Montreal (They formed in the 90's but who cares)
Andrew Bird
for some of you who are asking i mean the bands you think have been the best in the 2000s it doesnt matter when they where formed.

I agree with Queens of the Stone Age being the best band around currently, with honorable mentions to Audioslave, Muse, and Wolfmother. IMO "A Song For the Deaf" has been the best album of any band since 2000, followed closely by the first Audioslave (self titled), and "Lullabies to Paralyze".
Edit: Audioslave isn't around currently, as they broke up a couple of months ago.
