Its unbalanced as hell! Thats right, when you have a all powerfull general he IS all powerfull.
I LOVED the jedi's, it was a big reason for me coming back each time.
I remember one danish(bkb or xl mod i dunno) campaign in wich i had the best combat prince ever, His valour was maxed and and best of all he was dismounted(Danish noble)
As my danish campaign began to fail with the polish and english fighting back and the egyptians invading britanny(!)
I pulled my best units back and let europe revolt. My last prince to make the trip home got stuck in russia and was pushed into a battle with some cumans.
The cumans had a massive force consisting of more or less 3000 men. My prince how ever had only 400 battlehardend veterans. The battle was set in a mountain terrain with me up on a hill in a perfect defensive position.
The battle began with the cumans commiting there first wave to combat. First contact was made when a group of spearmen foolishy enough charged my jedi prince. My prince RAN trough a 200 group of spearmen, when he got out the other side the 40 danish nobles turned around and took a second charge killing them all but 20.
Most of my other army consisted of high end viking huscarls and other high era troops. They were fighting like lions. You could feel the adrenaline of the combat. Even my scandiavian mercs drew their swords and joined the fight.
Then the enemy general wanted a piece of my prince who now only had 20 men left. They had a free path to my general. I orderd my prince to counter charge. The cuman heavy cav was not even enough to stop my prince who quickly killed the general. This man is god with a big axe and a danish tongue.
after the first wave was routed only 200 men were left, but 2000 were killed on the cuman side. My men stood tired on top of the mountain when the next wave came. This general was not so foolish and only sended a few troops my way before retreating.
I won!! I could not believe it. 400 veterans in a hostile land far from home actually won.
the remaining 180 went home and the prince died of old age, the cumans had over 2500 casulties and never expaned because the year after the entire regio revolted.
This could never happen in Rome, and could only happen in mtw2 in the very best of times.
My hands are itching, maybe ill install mtw tonight again.
