SPQR Mod Install Problem

I am a bit confused on why I can't seem to get the SPQR mod installed on my laptop. I have tried it several times, following the README file.

1. I deleted all traces of RTW from my drive,
2. I re-installed RTW to my drive,
3. I installed RTW 1.3 patch,
4. I installed RTW 1.5 patch,
5. I installed SPQR 6.2 to my RTW directory.

However, though the 1.3 patch shows up in my Control Panel, neither patch 1.5 nor the SPQR 6.2 shows up either in Control Panel or in the RTW directory. Its like they have not been installed. I have deleted everything and tried installing everything from mscratch, but to no avail.

Any help would be most appreciated, as I am dying to play this mod.

Try running RTW, it'll run SPQR. SPQR isn't really optional, it changes RTW to SPQR.

First, sorry, I am not sure why it posted my topic 3 times, strange.

When I run RTW, it isn't SPQR, its old RTW, with the three Roman factions as starting factions to play. Nothing seems different.

Is your RTW folder under Activision in program files or The Creative Assembly? The patch and the mod may not be installing to the correct directory. When I installed the mod it wanted to install to the C:/Program Files/Activision/Rome-Total War folder but I had to change it to C:/Program Files/The Creative Assembly/Rome-Total War.

Cool, thanks Math Blaster, that fixed it! I can't believe I never caught that. One further question though, if I could.

At the start of the Imperial game (playing Rome) the first Senate mission I am given is to take the small town along the Gallic border. But it already starts out under Roman control. Am I missing something? How can I take a town that is already Roman-controlled?
