do you believe in ghosts? if you don’t then...
would you be scared if you saw one?
though you would presume it isn’t real, in such a situation it may seam different.
have you ever seen one?

my god, you're worse than I thoughti don't believe in ghosts in the harry potter styling of them... but i do believe, for example, that on Samhain, the spirits of our ancestors walk the earth
good question tbp, i feel a presence sometimes that i can’t explain and i think if i saw one in the dead of night i would probably be scared at least to begin with. ancestor spirits to me seam to be more collective although my gran seamed quite ‘present’ at times shortly after her death, but not now.

Do I believe in Ghosts....NO
Well I am intelligent person, who uses rational thought and logic and has little to fear, for it is your irrational, childhood fears which allows your mind to delve into the depths of fantasy.
cuchulainn
we are all rational yet sometimes sense things when nothing is apparent.
i would like to extend this thread to clairvoyants and mediums etc. i have a clairvoyant come around every year, what she says is mainly right but sometimes doesn’t happen but could have potentially. i am quite capable of noting psychological techniques used to gain info too - as is she, but she wont let me say a word and purposefully keeps her gaze from me until the primary reading is done, then we discuss what it means.

i think death is the end of biological function, and that your 'consciousness', for want of a better word, also perishes with it...
but i sumtimes get the strangest feelin, like uve bin sayin, that sumone/thing is ther watching me or another presence is in the room...
i think its the human mind's natural subconscious to create a feeling or stage of like after death, i spose its how it copes
melboy
we know much about the human brain, the more we know the less we can explain what the ‘mind’ is.
why would a chemical robot need to ‘cope’ with death?
another subject anyhow.

mmm thats actuly a very good point...
is it jst humans hu believe in ghosts? if a robot was made smart enuf, wud it? or even animals, maybe...
maybe not the point u wer gettin at, but it made me think lol

I believe that what people see as "ghosts" are just physical manifestations of an electromagnetic "imprint" left by an organism when it dies, the remains of the electric pulses sent by neurons along the nervous system that freeze in their current positions when all neural activity ceases. What one sees is merely a whisper of their nervous system, a static print left upon the world when they died.
maxamilian
i have heard similar theories, but i would have thought that apart from simple static the neural EM would dissipate.
i sometimes wonder if time leaves imprints like a reflection of past events - but i don’t know how it would work as far as the physics go. time and perception are not so simple to understand, quantum echo perhaps - where EM waves may traverse time? not sure

Hehehe, just joking...to be honest, there is so much science cant yet explain and what it explains it does so in theory. There is much betwaen earth and sky says old saying, yet we have just scratched the surface.
I belive if I ever saw a ghost as they are mythologically portraited as spectre or something like that, guess I would think its hoax.If it hits me this is reall thing!Than Casper relation to that enity wouldnt be my first instinctive reaction, I would freak out.Guess too many RPG and Sthephen King movies influence![]()

Do i believe in ghosts? no, i see no reason to.
I have had my fair share of "odd" experiences but i will not jump to conclusions about what they are.
If i saw something that i cannot explain then i would obviously be shocked but that is irrelevant. people are afraid of the unknown, not the known.
i'm inclined to agree with the current view that many of these experiences are caused by local electromagnetic fields after seeing some convincing evidence of the link.

I don't believe in ghosts... but if I meet a ghost, I would thank him for settling some of my existential angst. Then I'd continue to ask him questions about the after-life.

I do not believe there are real ghosts but I could imagine, that I saw a ghost and was scared nevertheless, until I realized it was my imagination.

Do I belive in ghost n' ghouls?, do I encounter them... it depends how many bottles I'm after- just joking!!!
I know people who swears they met them in the past on various occasions...but you know I'll belive human minds may play trick. Once I even being convinced by my friends to visit some casttles and dvors which 'are haunted' - well it was nice trip and I saw a piece of my country but ghosts haven't fancied our presence![]()
I'm open to the existence of ghosts, but I don't actively believe in them. I suppose if I were to see one, I would curl up like a baby and cry until it left.
electro magnetism can certainly explain many things, and we could even have visions due to it. the evidence is scant for sure, on TV shows like ‘most haunted’ you hear noises mainly and sometimes they seam to be responsive. of course we can’t really believe to much - it is TV.
would be nice if someone sat down and had a long conversation with one, preferably albert einstien or similar, then they could give details that might mean something.
anyone you chaps would like to meet?
