Error reading Voice1.dat

I always had an error when I installed the game:"CRC Error: Voice1.dat does not match the one in the Cab-File. Your medium could be broken."

I always skipped it and never had a problem playing the game.

But now I tried to apply the leaked 1.2 patch and the installion is aborted: "Error: Broken or missing File g:\...\sounds\voice1.dat. Update cannot be continued."

So, I copied it manually to the folder and tried it again. Same result.

Now, I make an image of my dvds and try it that way.

But in the meantime...

Any suggestions?

Edit: Now I tried to install the game from an image i made, but now it's the SFX.dat and the voice1.dat which doesn't fit the setup-cab-file...

i have the same prob.I researched a bit and I know for sure that it is a hardware problem.Installed the game on another comp and worked fine from the same set of disks.changed my ram,motherboard,hdd,dvd-rom.same problem.my guess is the CPU's fault.it's a Pentium D 820 2,8MHZ and the motherboard it's an Asus p5vd2-x.it might be an incompatibility issue between the two or a problem with the cpu.hope this helps somehow.
