just. wow.
The ammount of tanks and planes on screen puts most similarly themed western productions of the time to shame, really (Patton's "epic" Kasserine pass scene with its M48s anyone?)

Like Neverwinter Nights? Wondering where to go now that the old NWN Vault is gone? Come visit the new one at http://neverwintervault.org/!
Osvobozhdenie
Great movie. Sad ending though.

I suppose there are a few men on screen.
Should be a great inspiration for the next WWII movie featuring the eastern front. Just one ting..
T-34's shouldn't be able to take on a Tiger Tank head on?

wow!
I just love when everything on screen is real. I hate it when everything is computer animated... it's not the same.
It's a 5-part movie series from the battle of kursk till the fall of berlin. It's full of soviet propaganda, but the amount of men and material put on screen to recreate the battles is amazing.
The epic of Liberation (Osvobozhdeniye) is indeed the greatest set of WWII movies made to date.
That's exactly what they did.T-34's shouldn't be able to take on a Tiger Tank head on?
Rode up close enough to the tank so that the force of the shell would break through it's thick armor from close range.
As for propaganda, you should see some of the Stalin era movies (like Fall of Berlin).
All the German generals are the most obese and ugliest actors in the USSR, Hitler looks like a hysterical child and there is a scene where two catholic cardinals console him over the loss at Stalingrad.
