    Default Had enough

Finally i tought ,ive found a great mod for rtw.
But no,i mean what the hell Sabyn?U start with 1 town, treasure going down, surrounded by rebel city with big armies, and i start with a small frickin 5 unit army.Same with Carthage and any other,Population dropping,Bad economy, over strong opponents.Maybey its me that ive never went farther than 10 turns.
So what im a noob with the campaign, there must be a mod in the world that makes it possible to play a campaign without pulling ur hair out of fustration!
And makes it possible to play with ease, and not worrying about the economy, without city with ridiculous garrisons.

...You've given them one hour to respond. No wonder nobody said anything. I don't understand what you mean. It seems pretty easy, yet not too easy to get things on track and expand your empire.

Example, canea ****,or whatever the english are called in EB,listen:
3 Generals,4 units,200 income every turn(when disbanding the skirmishers and rasing the taxes to very high) , every nearby city has a full garrison.

Well that Sabay...(sp?) faction isnt completed so I wouldnt bother playing them until the next installment.

But for the Casse faction you need to disband the boat and build a lot of slingers, for they are the key to victory in the early stage of expansion. What I did on VH/M is build loads of slingers + the cheapest warbands on the rooster. It takes some time to get right so dont worry too much.

But if you want a easier game I suggest you try playing the romans, they have a stable economy early on in the game along with Carthage I think.

Nope tried romans,Gauls attacked me with 2 stacks of units at the same time 2 stanks of epiros units attack capua.(on easy)
Carthage dont get me started, all settlements have minus population %

    Aww, dont be like that.

If you really cant do it I suggest you use the add_money cheat to create a couple stacks and seal off your terriorty until you build up your economy.

I only really have experience with the Casse so I cant help too much with the other factions

Come on man, don't give up so easily...It is so boring to win all the time...The challenge and difficulties, when u actually have to use ur brain, and do all the management is what makes it fun...
But yep, lack of money sometimes can be extremely frustrating...Try using add_money ))

i dont wanna cheat,i want more battles, but even the automanage cant handle it.(BTw whos says im winning all the time,i would be happy with the economy just sorted out.
Besides, the only thing keeping from unistalling the the greek voicemod and pride.

There are plenty of mods that focus on battles. Take for example SPQR and Darthmod, both providing you with lots and lots of very intense battles. There is no need for you to play a mod that you don't like, luckily.

EB is probably one of the hardest, if not the hardest mod for campaigns.

Hmmm....in that case that's too bad...May be another faction will do...or hm... add_money my friend (( I mean i wouldn't cheat either, but if there is no other way, what else to do, deleting is not the answer ...

Haha, indeed. SPQR can be very difficult as well.

If you're having such a hard time, then you're playing the wrong way...EB is very playable, I generally play as Hayasdan, which starts with one settlement, 3 generals, and generally really weak infantry and hella expensive cavalry, on top of being nestled next to the seleukid empire...

it sounds to me like you're playing on VH if autoresolve doesn't win for you (With losses) and you have a good stack of guys... play on M with half stacks or less if you want a challenge, but if you make battles VH then slingers think they're one of the 300 Spartans and will turn away low morale shock troops at times... I've found that EB is challenging indeed, but if you focus your attacks with Stacks of Doom then the AI can't even handle that so it's too easy on VH/VH even- so try concentrating your forces... you can't expect the smallfrys that are less known of the ancient era to actually conquer the world so easily- this MOD is more historical than anything else out there and thus reflects the challenge of an early Germanic state or Arabic state... the Celts ruled a huge part of Europe in early times although they were not unified, so you should expect some struggle from them! Caesar was only able to conquer them after much struggle- he lost at Gergovia! Rome was sacked by Celts long before the Goths and Vandals.

Sometimes I have just had bad luck when playing the Romans, like the Celts invade too soon... so if you restart a game, you can usually plan ahead and deter them just by having some units ready for them. Of course they don't want to invade sometimes... You can actually send a diplomat North by the 2nd turn (as Romans) and declare peace so you can focus on Epeiros. They are the biggest threat when you start, as many have been commenting, "don't let Epeiros build-up or they become a powerhouse." I just played as Macedonia and the Romans (AI) were going to lose all of Italy to them, despite the fact that I took their Greek lands!

*-as said, any player who doesn't want to be frustrated in the early game must disband their boats, even if you start with the easier, larger nations. once you have your economy going you can build boats just to eat up your surplus of cash

I sympathize with your frustration since I made a similar post about the huge pirate navies, but I can't help but comment that the forum moderators/EB team members do care about game balance and player experience, so if you give them some time and some respect, they just might suprise you with an interesting solution.

ps- SPQR is a magnificent MOD in idea, but there isn't enough strategy in vanilla RTW to make me want to constantly re-fight the same boring battles until I hate playing RTW. When your game is all about pumping out the same elite units, then what is the point? I say <bleh> to Stack of Dooms and Real Time Action (there's no strategy in RTS). Grunt-rushing has not been removed from the RTA(RTS) scene, nor evolved, but somehow EB makes it more interesting and worthwhile because you have to balance your economy and troop selection/barracks before the hordes can flow. Nonetheless the historical detail, unique and proper respect to extensive "barbarian" culture and beautiful graphics make it all worthwhile even if they hadn't created such a wondrous economy system.
