Thread: How To Add New Historic Events

It's first time I've been trying to mod something. I followed your instructions, but I can't put to work.

    Here's what I did:

    I created a seperate folder.

I copied historic_events.txt.strings and descr events to this folder.

After I download the reader/editor program I opened it and opened the historic_events.txt.strings, but the format is different. The format you mentioned is in the historic_events folder. So now I'm confused with the instructions you gave.

Which of these files should I work with? Or both?

Edit: I have solved the problem I was having. Thanks for your instructions.

@juanguer - ignore Swagger. You can't see it because it isn't unpacked.

What you should see in the data\text folder is historic_events.txt.strings.bin

You need to download Alpaca's strings_bin_converter to convert this to the historic_events.txt file. Once its edited a new .bin file will be automatically created (just make sure the existing one isn't read only) providing the new text file is 'newer' than the existing .bin file.

Swagger - I understand he said he unpacked (Although from the last note I'm not sure he had) however you seemed to miss the point that UNPACKING doesn't give you the historic_events.txt file it gives you historic_events.txt.strings.bin
So there's every reason why he can't find the file!

juanguer - yes unpacking won't affect it. next take the.bin file convert it to the text file and amend the text file. You can place the text file into the mod folder it will re-generate the .bin file

    with the converter:
