My first game

First time playing deus lo vult. Playing 2.2 with the 1.2 unofficial patch. What a blast. The trait system is stunning. I'm having a hoot as The English on H/H.

Boy was I surprised when I got excommunicated, I had The Scots on the ropes and I had to make a decision; wipe them out or face the popes wrath. Half my nobles rose up against me including the crown prince! Father and son in a bloody civil war.

Then the King fell ill and named a 16 year old kid Prince Regent of the Realm! ( He was the only loyal knight travelling with him. Epic stuff....Loving it. The titles are really cool and the diplomacy is working like a charm.

Also big surprise; Scottish rebel family member appearing on an inaccessable hex in the mountains of Scotland. Suddenly I'm construction forts like it's Brave Heart trying to corner the pesky bugger.

My compliments to the chefs. You guys have really blown me away.

1240 - My regent has gone insane probably because the king named him regent and his father was a traitor, meanwhile back in the dungeon the king has become a mean, miserable freak. I'm afraid if he comes to power he will be even worse!.
