Return Of The Succession Campaign!

Was just going over the original thread (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ssion+campaign) and remembered how much fun it was. The game works like so; one player takes control of a faction (decided by a vote beforehand) and plays as if he/she were the leader of that faction until the faction leader dies. The save is then transferred by email to the next player in the list.

The game will be played on vanilla RTW OR BI 1.5/1.6 (I would have made one for MIITW, but my computer can't run it.) If anybody wants to play with a mod, there must be a vote first. The faction and difficulty will be decided by a vote once enough people have signed up. However, if people really really want to play it on MIITW then I can just oversee the whole thing.

Sounds good, the last one was a success right? I would be pretty willing to have a go at doing this myself. But... I think the time zone would get in the way. Most of the time I am asleep while most Americans (this is an example) who are doing this are eating lunch (tea as we say in England and not the drink tea) so they are going to have to wait at least 24 hours to carry on.

Do you get what I mean?

Thanks for replying, Guy. No, the timezone difference isn't a problem (I live in England anyway); as long as you are able to provide regular updates on progress. I'll add you to the list.

I wont play for many years...for about a week in real time..before I hand it back. I will provide many screenshots.

Id prefer at least a hard difficulty level and that whoever has the game promises to do their turn and pass it on within 7 days. (Otherwise players loose interest and drift away).

Ps..Im already doing one of these elsewhere. This one makes two more new ones that ive volunteered for. Ive done 5 or 6 of these before. Love em.

Great that you're interested. However, the way the game works is that the player has to play until the faction leader dies. If you can't play for the whole time, you can't play at all and it's passed on to the next player. Still, I'll add you to the list.

I'm so glad that people are interested. Difficulty will definitely be higher than medium, either H/H or VH/VH (probably the latter). And yes, no Roman factions; too boring. I think something Barbarian would be fun, Gaul or Spain?

Yes, to pass on the game, just copy the save file and email it to the next person (we'll sort out emails via PM later.) Once we have 7 people, we'll vote on a faction and then start.

Excellent! 7 players! I'll now set up a poll to decide on the faction. Remember people, this is for VANILLA RTW/BI 1.5/1.6.

To verify the way the savegame is passed on; PM the person who is to play after you, and ask for their email address. Then go into the 'saves' folder in the main RTW folder, and attach the save to an email. Then send it.

EDIT: Faction poll is up. Left out Carthage and Armenia as they have already been done in succession campaigns, and Romans because they're too easy. Start voting!
