    Default A bit confused

Do i need to download RTR 6.0 gold first then platinum 1.8, or is the Platinum a standalone version of Rome Total Realism? could someone enlighten me? If i do need 6.0 could someone give me a link?

I have looked around, i would have asked a bunch of other questions but i did find out for myself by looking around these forums.

Any replies will be appreciated thanks.

Platinum 1.8. is a standalone version. You only need the original RTW patched to 1.5. to make it work. And if you download the mod_switch install, it will not even touch your original RTW install.

    Thanks for that m8

The mod switch? does this mean you can switch between different mods without having to uninstall anything? e.g. switching between total realism and SPQR.

As long a the mods are build using the -mod:switch concept (usually will be written in the read me or FAQ) then it will not cause a problem installing multile mods in the same RTW-BI folder.

Mods that I know are using this (and have it in my own installation) are RTRPE v1.8 (mod:switch , there are 2 version though), TFT 1.92, mods that's base on RTR/RTRPE like my Imperator II mod, Salvor's 77bc mod (choose the mod:switch version) Forth Age:Total War (for BI) and EB 0.8 version.

Take note however that installing EB over these versions do actually change some vanilla files like loading screen and city images on the strat map. It doesn't beak the game or other mods in anyway but it somehow looks funny and quite out of place..

p/d: Not sure if SPQR mod uses the mod:switch version though as I've never tried it.
