Digitally Distributed Copy + Patch = No Go?

I decided to repost this seeing as how my previous one got lost in the, "Downloading now!" posts.

I frequent these forums for information regarding M2TW quite often, but have never really found the need post... Until now.. I just finished downloading the torrent, and I am now seeding it for those of you who, like me, suffered very slow download times for quite a while. I just finished installing a clean copy of M2TW and tried to run the patch, but I did not have my hopes up, for I have a digitally distributed copy. Well, the patch did not work. It cannot recognize my copy of M2.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to get around this? I do not feel like having to wait for CA to finish the patch, then for Direct2Drive to finish theirs as well. I assume it is possible to manually unpack everything and place the files in their proper places, but I am not quite sure of where to put them. Any ideas? I need my war-crack!

I don't know what I can do to fix this, but my advice: Don't digitally buy games, most some games can't use mods if it's d.downloaded and others can't use "normal" patches but their special patches. Going out to the shop and buying the thing is better IMO.

Heheh, yeah. It is the first time I have purchased something like that. I was curious. I figured it would be the real thing that I could just download from the comfort of my own home, but it wasn't. If only it was with a game I did not play so much! Well, thanks for the reply. Hopefully someone knows some sort of trick!
