Re: Installing Skins
I got stuck with the same problem, its hard to explain so you'll have to bear with me, I'm not a whizz at skinning either. The first time I tried to install a unit it took me 6 hours. Now its 10 minutes...
ok, It kinda depends what you want to skin, if you want to skin an existing unit, just replace the texture and model-flexi bits for example here is the modded greek/macedon general to have an Achillles texture.
type greek_general
skeleton fs_dagger
skeleton_horse fs_hc_swordsman
skeleton_elephant fs_forest_elephant_rider
skeleton_chariot fs_chariot_sword
skeleton_camel fs_hc_swordsman
indiv_range 40
texture greek_cities, data/models_unit/textures/achillies_h.tga
texture seleucid, data/models_unit/textures/achillies_h.tga
texture macedon, data/models_unit/textures/achillies_h.tga
texture thrace, data/models_unit/textures/achillies_h.tga
model_flexi data/models_unit/achillies_h.cas, 15
model_flexi data/models_unit/achillies_h.cas, 30
model_flexi data/models_unit/achillies_h.cas, 40
model_flexi data/models_unit/achillies_h.cas, max
model_tri 400, 0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5
One thing is that say you get a file with .cas on the end dont copy the normal rome total war files for model_)flexi that say HIGH or HIGHEST, LOWEST, etc. just put the 15, 30 or 40 next to it, am I makign any sense whatsoever, if you get desperate just sned me the files and I'll do it for you.
If you want to make a completly new unti post again, IMO its slightly harder.
Hope this helps.
