Default Pacifism of the Human race? Unlikely!

Do you think that people can mentally achieve peace? Is war the only sure thing to predict for the human race? Tell me your thoughts.

I think only when we our enemy becomes robots, zombies, or aliens, will there be peace between humans. There'll still be traitors, but most of us will be loyal humanity because we are all humans and will have to stick together.

Ya, this is why my expectations of the human race evolving colonies on other planets seems more and more like a fantasy to me whenever i read the news..

What do you mean with "pacifism", what with "human race"?

    1) If "pacifism" means, you solve conflicts by peacefull means, then my answer is a clear "indeed, humans are able to solve conflicts by peacefull means".
    2) If "human race" means, you define yourself exclusively as a zoological being, then my answer was "the experience with zoological beings including ourselves speaks against the idea that "humans are able to solve conflicts exclusively by peacefull means".
    3) If you define yourself as a zoological being plus as a being with reason, or an understanding of ethics, or as an being with the ability of selfreflection, etc., then I am rather optimistic that you can achieve as a human being peace in the sense of "I solve conflicts with peacefull means".

I think the only real future we have as a race involves us all learning to live in peace and harmony, because if we dont we will more than likely anihilate ourselves.

Or you have the Big Brother version, where we all just live in fear of anihalating ourselves! LMAO.

In truth, I dont see the human race as aggressive at all (generally speaking of course you always get whackos). Seems to me that war is created by the ruling classes to line their pockets. Look back to the history of Europe. You have the royal blood of each country related to each other, so they are fighting themselves?? The so called English monarchy are german, so why were they fighting each other? Just seems trite to me.

Carry it forward to today and you have America with their Big Stick Policy at it again in Afghanistan and Iraq. Who is that war for? I will tell you who that war is for, and it aint for you and me and certainly NOT for the Afghanis and Iraqis. It is for Cheney and his oil buddies in Haliburton and so forth. For them to line their already full pockets with more Oil and Weapons money.

These are the people who create wars, not you and me. Not most everyday people. Ask anyone ... MOST people DONT LIKE WAR. Its normal to not like war. These :wub:s who create the wars are not normal people at all. Take the control of our society out of these peoples hands and see what a peaceful society we can become.

If we as a human race are to overcome this violent past, we must embrace peace. Peace in our own lives, and peace in the way we treat one another.

    Namaste.

Joke? If not, pacifism is the practice of peace.

    Pacifism of the human race?

Possible, yes. Probable, no. People have it in themselves to be peacefull all of the time(or most of the time), but as long as there are haves and have nots, there will be violence.

It is highly unlikely as we have seen from history that the human race needs war it is the human genes. We also see this in the 20th century WWI, WW2, The Korean War, Vietnam and the two gulf wars.
So no we cannot achieve pacifism well maybe for a while.
