    Default pain limits

So how much pain can you endure?

the other day my best friend called me a hard mofo! who could endure lots of pain that would make even the toughest guys faint so I started thinking about my most painfull experiences:

I had an ilizarov 4 times, and all 4 times it got infected, hurts but I was able to walk, to pour pure alcohol on it and not whine, just went ouch for 5 seconds, last year my rib hurt a bit, and my best friend and my mom whined I had to go to hospital so I went after 2 weeks, turned out my rib was broken and I had to take painkillers, didn't make much difference as the pain wasn't that bad as some people say it is, the painkillers based on codeine mixed with alcohol where some great fun tough!

now I've been walking with a bruised hand for 2 weeks (it's bruised or a bit broken not quite sure, it makes a bit of a cracking sound when I touch certain places, but the pain ain't that bad, alcohol helps a lot!) and I walk with crutches, the first day I wasn't able to aply pressure on the hand so I couldn't walk on the crutches too well, but I pressed and beat my hand for a few hours untill I got used to the pain, and was able to aply pressure again and could suport myself with the crutches.

The crutches are a result of a combination of osteogenesis imperfecta and a car accident, in the car accident i had broken my left lower leg at 1 place, shatered my left kneecap, broken my left upper leg in 3 places, broken my right lower leg in 5 places my right upper leg in 6 places my right lower arm in 4 and my right upper arm in 1 and i had shattered my right shoulder. I have iron plates in all those places except my left lower leg, annway that was probably one of my most painly experiences, tough the morphine I got helped a lot, downside was I saw millions of beetles everywhere.

annyway I quit counting at the age of 12 and at that time had sustained 40 leg fractures 8 arm fractures and 1 collar bone fracture. I still haven't learned, as I don't shy away from fights even tough i should be carefull, and sufered some black eyes

but my most painfull experience was probably that time when I broke my leg and the bone was bend at a 90 degree ankle from the fracture without painkillers or sedation they pulled it straight again at the hospital, and I elbowed the doctor in the stomache when he was done!

so now you people tell me your most painfull experience!

Pain is relative what hurts you, can kill another. I have always had a strong endurance of pain then I am a stocky lad 6 ft, 12st it takes a lot to knock me down. Also women have twice as many pain receptors than men so pain for women is more intence

    Sabaku,
If you have osteogenesis imperfecta (I'm guessing Type 1?), you really should be very careful about throwing your body around too much. Each fracture you sustain (especially leg fractures) has the potential to develop serious complications (such as fat emboli).

BTW, what the hell kind of hospital didn't give you painkillers when they set the bone??? Craziness.

what does fat emboli mean? annyway I read once that if you break something, it never breaks again on that spot, I'm tryieng to reach invulnerablilllity by having no space left to break!

seriously tough, as I grow older my bones get a bit stronger and I don't break as easy as when I was before puberty, and I stopped caring too at the age of 15 if I break I break, if not then not, there's no point in being extra carefull to avoid the unavoidable (if that makes sense?)

This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.

Maybe he has red hair. I believe it was once noted down somewhere that red heads have a higher pain tolerance. It's obviously not true in my case, then again, I can't be classified as a true red head because I tan!

Got shoulders dislocated in the middle of the mountain but managed to snowboard down by myself, got my arm, ear, thumb stitched up without anaesthesia, once had a broken ankle but stood the pain for 6 hours, countless amount of bruises, been in plenty of fights, don't want to think about how often I've been spanked or hit by school teachers or my parents...

    Yet I still hate dentists...

Our pain tolerance is nothing compared with animals, especially pigs. I once saw a warthog (a stupid one) headbutt a rhino, get impaled and thrown thirty feet through the air, run a few hundred yards with its intestines dragging behind it, then harass a baby gazelle for a few minutes before it finally keeled over and died.

They just don't have many pain receptors, my dog came into my room after it killed a fox in the garden, her face was pretty scratched up, she was fine (started trying to play with me when I went to grab her collar, getting blood on my bed in the process), took her to the vet though, foxes have hundreds of diseases.
I can put up with quite a bit of pain, got burning "napalm" (polysyrene and petrol) on my leg once, it burnt my leg quite bad, it was only a little bit, it's worse because you think "**** there's napalm on my leg and I can smell burning hair and flesh", could have been worse but I patted it out (took some time though, it's hard to put it out" there's still no hair on the area and about 2cm around it, it didn't actually hurt that much suprisingly, probably because it burt the pain receptors or something.
