    Default BPatch 1.2 First Reports

    1. Testing Vanilla 1.02 BPatch
    First impression from unofficial patch:
    checked that i got it installed (Version 1.02) ok

    - field battles are improved, dynamic
    I don't see a 2H bug anymore

    - siege battles are improved...no crash...!

    I have tested now several siege battles under different conditions (me attacker, me defender, big walls , small walls) and did get any crashes at all, but I can see
    - passivness of the AI is gone
    - small bugs: units got stuck on the walls, or in the main entrance
    -->> looks goooooood !

    Most important: How does the launcher work ?
    - no real readme for this, just one page about the registry for the mods
    - you need to copy everything under MIITW_Update2_Final_EFIGS\main\english
    into your medieval path, then the launcher works: you can start it
    - the launcher connects to the sega webpage where you can register your mod ? How ? Maybe this is not ready


    2. Testing with DLV mod
    BPatch 1.02 tested with DLV 2.11 without DLV Addon:

    Test: DLV 2.11 not changed
    --> battles no problems: sieges battles stupid as always, field battles not much difference
    --> campaign : no problems

    Test: deleted darth vader battle stuff
    --> Siege battles are now working better, but slow start, AI is passiv...


    3. Test with DLV 2.11 + Addon
    - Deus lo vult 2.1 (including Addon) plays without problems with patch 1.02 (not even a small error message)
    - All files have to be put into the mod folder including: modeldb, textures, sky, blood, models, campaign textures, ....

    --> mods are now totally isolated with the new patch !

    Some reports from the modding files of 1.02 patch
    - campaign AI: new parameters
    - battle AI: new parameters
    - mines for sulphur, coal, iron
    - naphta weapon
    - ballista\cannon wall tower not fixed

    in Detail:

    Repman, which files are Darth Vader's that i have to delete. I have the 1.02 patch as well. Also, let us know about the addon as well. Thanks in adnvance!

    First try it with DLV 2.11 and give feedback

    and then delete:
    - battle_config.xml
    - config_ai_battle.xml
    - descr_pathfinding.txt
    - descr_formations_ai.txt

    and give more feedback

    ahhhh i see....

    so i take it that the dlv will have to be installed manually with this patch?

    It seems the patch was leaked... and is still by CA standards buggy and needs another week of work. :/

    It was up on a mirror site and some industrious web comber downloaded it quick as a flash. It's interesting to get initial feedback on what may be a great enhancement to all the mods.

    You can now run more than one mod that adds in new textures and such? If the mods are now truly isolated, this is great news!

    Crash! Crash! Crash! Crash! Back to 1.1.

    But I have started loading subdirectories (one at a time) with the new files (over 36k! but not the exe) into my 1.1 DLV 2.11 set up without a problem.

    Mind if I ask the following so I don't waste a heap of time, regarding the sega patch:

    Is yours the 613.68 mb one, Repman?

    Did you do a fresh install of M2TW then apply the newest patch only?

    Not sure how you are getting dlv to work at all.

    Folks:

    Where do I get the version of the 1.2 patch that works and how to I apply it to MTW II - does it go to a clean version without 1.1 or with 1.1? Does it completely autoinstall? Are there other steps? How do I apply DLV and the addon - is it a straight application or do I have to manipulate files?

    Please help me out?!?

    I don't know where you can get the file at the moment
    The best is to uninstall MTW, reinstall and then directly the patch 1.2 beta

    I will upload in the next hour a new version DLV 2.2 only for the patch 1.2
