    Default The ultimate good?

I started an argument with my mother yesterday about god (if he exists).
She said that there is a god and that all of the universe is him.
She also said that it is the ultimate good and that all human soles are ultimately pure good (sins they are a part of him).
Now, I dont believe in god, but lats say that he exists.
Why is he the ultimate good? How do we know that?
    What is "good" aniway?
Its just a word that only refers to humans, not the universe as a whole (remember god is sepposed to be evrithing).
Isnt it imbalanced that the only diety (that is the whole universe) is supposed to be good?
Isnt their an oposite to evrithing? (yind and yan, + and -)

To fellow agnostics (and atheists): Lets pritend that it (god) exists.

In contrast to the efforts of tiny Israel to make contributions to the world so as to better mankind, one has to ask what have those who have strived to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth done other than to create hate and bloodshed.

Well the nature of "goodness" is hard to define. It is a constantly changing thing you can not get tied down by a notion of a diety or a book telling you what is right or wrong. However I degrees if god was real he would be the ultimite "goodness" since he created our entire morale system and it is from him we get our notion of right and wrong. It wouldent be unbalanced for the diety to be good even though it is a contridiction in terms since a prefect being would be just that neither good or bad he would make the perfect decsion every time.

Ask your mother if she believes in god or if she believes there should be a god.

First of all if it exists it is evrithing.
What it means is that if god is the ultimate good and he has atleast part of him in evrithing then evrithing is good.
But its not true, most sings are nutral and anithing that isnt strives to be nutral.
Like for instance, prutons (+) and electrons (-) are atracted to each other to nutralize their electric charges.
You dont see any good (or evil for that matter) in the universe.
Partly becaws "good" is just a relative term that does not apply to most things.
This leads us to 2 conclusions:
    1) God doesnt exist
    or
    2) God is nutral

    Make your choice.

+ and - are arbitrary. We can just as easily define no charge as good and the other two as evil.
Given any number of random, even contradictory metaphysical postulates, a justification, however absurd, can be logically developed.
