    Default Field Cost Question

I have a field cost question. I like the idea, but the problem I'm having is that I can't figure out where my cash is going.

I started a fresh game as England, VHVH, with F10,000. I place all three leaders in cities. No one is in the field.

I advance the turn and the F10,000 is intact.

I do the same but this time I move two spearman just outside London. I advance the turn and my treasury drops not to F9,800, as expected, but to F9,500.

I repeat the process a third time but on this occasion I move a lone leader just outside a city/castle. Everyone else is tucked away. Depending on which settlement I pick, my treasury drops by about F2,000!

    What's happening?

    Thanks.

touche'. I too am in serious need of something in writing explaining all the field costs/siege costs. Some of it is settlement specific, and family member (traits, retinues, and everything else that was affecting the city he departs)specific. In vanilla I was always checking the financial scroll, but in DLV this scroll will only tell me an approximate... a very, very, vague one at that!

PLZ, someone give me a the text book on DLV costs 101. Or at least a link to a thread that already breaks this down for me.

    hmm, you are right, but-

somehow i like my unpredictable economy. it is just frustrating in the first twenty turns or so.

Default Re: Field Cost Question: I answer my own question

I'm an idiot! I had started a clean game to check out the field costs and forgot to turn off the automanagement feature. So every time I pulled a leader out of a town, the auto-governor would construct some units or buildings.

    Bozo! (Me, not the auto-gov.)
