    Default user32.dll relocation

I was trying to get some team voice communication software to work, so I DL'ed Ventrilo and later teamspeak 2 and teamspeak 2 server. Still have not gotten them to work, but now I have a bigger problem....

I get this error every time I reboot after I installed the programs (my Firefox browser also just randomly crashed a couple of times). I'm not sure if it's me installing the programs that actually caused this, but its the only thing that makes sense to me now...

    suggestions?

Note the date and time when your c:\windows\system32\HHCTRL.OCX was last modified.
Was it during/after you installed this new software?
If it was then try uninstalling the software and see if HHCTRL.OCX changes again. (hopefully uninstalling your software will change it back to it's original version).
If it doesn't change back (or changes, but doesn't solve the problem) then you could try overwriting the file with a working version (I have one I could post/mail to you, but so should anyone else with windows XP).

If HHCTRL.OCX wasn't modified recently then your problem is probably caused by something else.

well, none of the files mentioned in the error message were changed recently, and unistalling all the applications I installed before I got the error message the first time did not help it either...

...so I guess I'm gonna have to do some googling to see what could be wrong...

It's been caused by the latest Windows XP update. Apparently it has some conflicts with the RealTek HD Audio drivers. A fix has already been released by Microsoft.

Somehow I knew a thread like this is going to appear.
