help with traits etc.

i've been reading through the pages and i've read people giving their generals banners and other various things.

ive also read in the FAQ?(i think) that you need to give your king a crown, how?

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

you receive crest for staying in a town for one turn, for example "Archduke of Stettin" when you were in the castle Stettin.

For generals who live their life in the field, they gain positive traits for being in the field. and they cost money. (read faq: field cost)
they receive banners if they were out long enough or if they won enough battles.

your king receives a crown only in the original starting town. basically, it gives you the authority required for a loyal family, which could otherwise rebel.

you can take the crown of another faction if a) their faction leader died and b)your king is in their original capitol.

ah thankyou, i understand now. i kept thinking that the little markers with scrolls etc. were somewhere aka. medieval one.
