ok so first i am going to say that i am not worthy of all of your knowledge and skill. with that said, secondly i would like to state that i do not have Barbarian Invasion, and am in now financial state to buy it. (yes i am 16 and im poor) If i am wanting to play a mod that is made for BI 1.6 can i just patch my vanilla rome to 1.6 and play that mod or is it impossible?

I never got BI either.

I think it depends on which types of mods you are looking at. Smaller mods I'm sure will work, but I don't have enough experience with BI to know if it changes the game files enough to prevent larger mods from working.

Someone else would know more, but I would suggest you back up your vanilla Rome (just copy the Rome folder and paste it) and then try to install it. I suspect that most mods would work, if not all... But then again, I'm no expert.

On the plus side, there's always RTR, TE, and BI - some great mods for Rome.

So long as the R:TW is untouched you just - Install BI then patch it to v1.6, Install the mod of your choice and your away. You should have no problems and "SHOULD" be able to play it (the mod) straight away, So long as it is made for BI v1.6

The only way that the 1.6 patch works is for the BI game otherwise it wont work.

You cannot install the 1.6 patch without BI you need to get otherwise the patch wont install.
