Doesn't look half bad. About the Viking's invasion and the such (although it's about as historically accurate as 300)

Again...based off a Dark Horse comic....who cares.
I will see it in the middle of the week for free most likely if I do see it...
Im a HUUUGE fan of norse mythology and all things viking, and even though this has little to do with either, I'm looking forward to it.
Of course, you know its going to piss the same 300 historical inaccuracy crowd right off... "Waaaahthey didn't have horns...BLAH BLAH"
LOL yeah that's acutally how I reacted in theatres, I saw this preview at 300 and I was grumpy at that movie. I dunno, the trailer just looks dumb to me, it doesn't pump me up.
Maybe because I like the history of vikings and to make them look like weird beasts is annoying.
Then again, know I know why the 300 haters felt the way they did.
So it goes.
The way vikings are presented in the film is just disgusting. They weren't orcs for god's sakes.![]()
Great, Conan the Barbarian 2000 style.
Zomg! Artist representations of vikings! ohhhh noes!!!
You people are artistically challenged when it comes to cinema.
The story is about a viking boy who is left behind in North America. He eventually is raised by the tribe and becomes their savior.
The Vikings are portrayed like they are in the trailer because they want them to look menacing and evil. Horrible monsters from the ocean trying to destroy the Indians.
I mean..wow guys use your brains and stop whining.
cool, the vikings look like Chaos Followers from the Warhammer Universe and just for that im going to watch this movie thinking they've finally made a movie in the Warhammer Universe.
Why spoil an exeperiance by saying this is crap that is crap, so ill imagine this is set in the Warhammer Univ just to convince my mind to like this.

They call this war a cloud over the land. But they made the weather and then they stand in the rain and say ****, it's raining!![]()
I thought the exact same thing when I saw those massive horns. If people want historical accuracy, there's always programs on television that you would most likely enjoy. But the fact is, most common people will go for the guy who's ten feet tall and can shoot lightning, rather than the regular soldier, forced to fight. It usually comes down to the public.
Many companies are "in it" just for the money, so naturally they'll choose what people are more attracted to, in order to get profits. This is not true for all cinema producers, however. I prefer both historical and stylistic.
I could watch 300, and know where they got it wrong based off of the various historical programs I had seen. Just realize that some are going to prefer the artsy way, and others will prefer the more accurate way.
Well, the reason I love the way they look in this movie is because, well, just imagine being a native and seeing these beast-like men landing in these black ships of death, raiding and pillaging, slaughtering everybody. If I had witnessed something like that, this is how I'd remember them in mind. I would imagine them as these evil, menacing, snarling creatures.
Im kinda sick of these crappy comic book based movies i hope that all historical movies dont turn out like 300....
This movie looks bad ass.At first, I thought it was remake of Conan because it begins with conquerors invading the land and sacking this particular village, killing the hero's family. The hero grows up and seeks revenge. Sounds really similar to Conan at first uh?
I love these kinds of movies that are set in the age of iron and steel. Really looking forward to seeing it this weekend.
This movie looks cool, but I don't like the way the Viking Raiders are portrayed as "Orcs" or other monsters, the Vikings were Humans too. (And the Persians in "300", the Thermopylae movie)
You beat me to saying that, Il Duce....I agree.(although it's about as historically accurate as 300)
Well 300 have some historical accuracy with a small force being massivly outnumbered and if im going to see a movie it must have a little historical accuracy.
These fine gentlemen's have thanks to their consistent idiotic posts have earned their place on my ignore list: mrmouth, The Illusionist, motiv-8, mongrel, azoth, thorn777 and elfdude. If you want to join their honourable rank you just have to post idiotic posts and you will get there in no time.
I seen it yesterday at 3:55, which was awesome because there were only 14 people in the theater. I was very good, with quite a bit of gore. They really demonized the Vikings, and I loved how no one Viking looked the same. My one friend mentioned that they reminded him of the Puddies from the old Power Rangers show. They appeared out of nowhere and made strange sounds. All in all, it was a good experience.
Aye good of you to write here , now all i need to do is find a cinema where there showing this movie (not an easy task here in India).

eh i didnt really like this movie so much, maybe it was the overuse of fast camera movement during fights. like they do when they cant come up with decent fight scenes so they jump around alot. i would advise sitting far back as i was kinda close and it was way to blurry.
the plot was very thin and easy to see where it was going. pretty much its, oh im raised by indians, oh my village, oh revenge, oh save girl...bla bla bla. i think smoking aces had more of a plot then this movie( and that was nothing but a pure shootem up movie). i give it 2 out of 5 bags.
Viking raid in North America???? I thought they only reached Greenland???
