This describes the mod in its current state, but yes I have decided to add the Armenians. I will be able to use them in all eras, so they are a good choice. I would also like to do an 888 AD campaign, so we will eventually be able to play as the Kingdom of Italy and Greater Armenia .

While I have your attention, what is the more correct way spell this...Naxarar or Nakharar ?

At this point Cilician Armenia, Ireland and the Serbs are in for sure. The other 6 slots are up for discussion.

    @Ermeni

I finished the Armenian UI shields last night , I also finished Ireland's, and redid the Genoese shield (the original was a placeholder).

SicilianVespers, are you going to make previews for the other eras as well? Maybe you could start by posting all the info about each era you are planning to do, and once you start working on them, you can post screenies?

Nakharar and Naxarar are pronounced the same way. Although technically it should be written NaXarar.

It's just the armenian spelling has Kh as a single letter and some transliterations try to put those letters in armenian that would be two letters in english as just one... (example Ts, Dz, Ch...)

Better to stick with Nakharar as not everyone knows that.

I installed alpaca's provincial campaign pack, and I think I may include a beta of the Early Campaign with the main Sicilian Vespers 2.0 release.

The Early campaign will be selectable from a new "Custom Campaigns" option on the single player menu (where the Grand Campaign is).

I will just need to alter some of the faction names to suit the multiple eras. For example, the Merinid Sultanate will probably become the Moors, but their name in the description on the faction selection screen will read Merinid Sultanate. This will probably be the case for a few factions, such as the Mamluks, Ottomans, Rus. Basically any faction that changes it's name over the three eras.

This is a limitation if the provincial campaign system, as there is only one expanded.txt. I will have to think about the naming a little more before I decide.

Hi there - looks very good!

I couldn't help but notice, you have the Grand Principality of Kiev as a faction (replacing Russia, I presume), but the starting position remains in Novgorod. If you could change the starting position to the Kiev region, taht would be great.

Also the province of Halych-Volhynia (eastern polish starting province) was a Rus principality at the time, so it should be either rebel or part of Kiev (at your discretion) and have around 80-90% Orthodox population either way.

Great mod, looking forward to your progress!

    Thanks.

Actually, I think the faction name may be changing to "the Rus", and I may implement Royal titles via ancillaries. If I go with this method, you wouldn't become the Velikiy Kniaz of Kiev until you conquer a certain number of the Principalities.

This may be the only way to make the provincial campaigns coexist.

Of course this depends on whether I include the other eras as provincial campaigns.

    [EDIT]

Scratch what I just said, 2.0 will have a new "Launch_SicilianVespers.bat" that will present an era selction menu, and copy in the appropriate expanded.txt to setup the campaign.

After selecting the era, it copies over the two files, and starts M2TW with the SicilianVespers.cfg as usual.

Actually, I was simply reffering to the physical location & ownership of Halych-Volhynia. I actually would be quite satisfied with any solution, as long as the province is not polish-owned and is orthodox.

As for the Rus, in my opinion the easiest way to represent it is to have the player control Kiev and several regions around it, with further regions, such as Novgorod and Vladimir being either rebels or low-loyalty regions.

I really dislike how in vanilla, the Rus is focussed solely on Novgorod, with Kiev (the actual centre of power at the time) a small rebel town! In my vanilla games, Poland or Hungary nearly always take over what was in history the heartland of the Rus state.

So basically, I hope you decide to make the starting postition of Russia (or Rus', if you're going to change the name as you said earlier) to make it a little bit more historically accurate.

    Thanks.

Will we need SV 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 for 2.0?
What do you mean for these eras? We copy Vanilla expanded.txt and paste it in SV?

No, SV 2.0 will include everything, both the Late and Early Campaigns for now.

The Launcher will setup the correct expanded.txt for the era you select. There is nothing manual at all.

The Regular Late campaign will be played via the Grand Campaign, and the Early Campaign will selected from the new Custom Campaigns menu option. Here are some screenshots:

It will also be completely self-contained.

I'm unbelievable impressed, SV, now i didn't follow the development some days, only to see that also the Early Era will be included in the 2.0 version

Hope to have time soon to give it a go.

    Ok great!

So you will fix starting positions to make them historical?
