spqr mission script question
using BI 1.6, 77BC mod switch version + hotfix2. I can't seem to find where the mission / quest dialogue is presented in the game, after you are first given the missions via the helper popup. I have checked the faction leader character scroll (both in the city and by himself standing in the field) and it is just the usual list of traits and ancillaries, nothing in the mouseover text for any of them about the mission I was just given. I have just had a half dozen city / character names thrown at me in the mission where I am supposed to destroy the armenians and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing.

Re: spqr mission script question
This issue has also been pointed out by DaVinci so I will try to fix it for 2.0. version. Here is a reminder of the missions:
First mission: to destroy the Sertoriani Faction and capture their settlements.
Second mission: The cities of Sinope, Amisus, Amaseia, Heraclea and Trapezus must all acknowledge the imperium populi Romani (i.e. be conquered).
Third mission: The objectives are to capture Artaxata, Tigranocerta, Armavir and Nisibis
Fourth mission: You must conquer the settlements of Kydonia, Patara and Side
Fifth mission: to conquer the Syrian Settlements of Antioch, Sidon, Tarsus and Laodikia.
Hope this helps!

Re: spqr mission script question
Thanks! That should be enough help to do it. Excellent mod by the way, just realised all I have done is complain about things so far.

Re: spqr mission script question
I was thinking about the same thing yesterday. When reading Salvors post I realise that I have missed the second and third mission (I guess I am used to ignore the advisor). Also missed the "Pirate mission" and only saw the reminder
that I had one year left to take 3 provinces. LOL, my fault of course but it would be good with a feature in game that helps tracking missions and objectives.
Is it possible in next version to make the mission descriptions appear in a event dialog
box (I mean the type that tells the player of Archimedes, Buddhism etc). The advisor
and me are not friends. Ive been ignoring her for too long ;-)
Btw, what year does the mod end? Death of Ceasar 44 BC?

Re: spqr mission script question
boxo, no problem, man. Although we have beta-tested this mod for a long time there are many things to improve and I am really thankful for your feedback.
sOhei, that is quite fun as you must have been suffering some penalties due to your ignoring the advisor
. Enemy armies spawning everywhere and finantial losses, mainly. Suicides of generals were only for the first mission failure, too bad...
The idea about the events was also suggested but the problem is that I do not know (yet) how to make them appear only for a faction (SPQR). I mean, it would be a bit weird to be playing as Gaul and receive a message telling you to conquer Antiocheia
. And I have read that this is particularly difficult with the 1.6. BI engine. But, as soon as I end porting version 2.0. to the mod_switch I will try either the event or the traits option to display the objectives for the SPQR player.
Finally, this mod ends in (if I remember correctly) 10 AD. I wanted to give the Caesariani player some time to enjoy after the Civil War with Caesar. If the great man had not been killed he had an invasion of Parthia scheduled that would be very interesting to play.
Sorry for the long post. Fortunately, I am a non-native English speaker. Otherwise, my posts would be longer than the Illiad.

Re: spqr mission script question
Lol, yes my campaign so far has been..hmm..."challenging"...to say the least :-)
Not sure I have completed any of the missions in time and there is war on every front now and my economy is...well...bad. However I truly enjoy
the game, very intense, lots of epic battles.
The traits options would be really good, I assume its in the same manner
as in EB?
How is the progress on version 2.0? Ive started a little list with suggestions
for the next version. Thought IŽd post it in your suggestions thread...

Re: spqr mission script question
Yes, the idea is to use EB system but in a dinamic way (i.e. changing the trait every time the mission changes). That might be difficult, but not impossible as far as I know.
Eagerly awaiting your suggestions!
