    What about the Azats?

I am thinking they were heavier than the Aspet Cavalry, since they were the lesser Nobility.

If you want any help on this, PM me.
I've modded a Kilikia (Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia) into Vanilla and I could happily post all the parts of file I modded into the game.

Unfortunately, I cannot skin/map/screw around with faction symbols so I only did text edits and gave them mercs as units.

SV, Aspet means literally "mounted warrior" so anyone could be an Aspet. Azats were lesser Nobility, they would be more like the Counts of Europe.
The Nakharar were the higher Nobles, the chief landowners. One such famous Nakharar family was the Lampronetsi (Of Lampron), a family which Hetum, the founder of the Hetumyan dynasty was from.

Among Nobles, the Axe, Mace, Sword and Lance were very common.

The Javelin was generally used by the poorest Cavalrymen and most Infantry. The Bow was a favorite harkening back to the constant battles among the Armenian Kingdom of Antiquity (time period...not place) and the Parthians (many Armenians of Parthian descent are quite prominent, St. Grikor the Illuminator was the son of a Parthian nobleman).
    Spears were universal.
Swords were mostly for the upper classes,.

I was thinking we should call the Javelin cavalry, Aspet Cavalry?

I have a good idea of what I need to do, but if you send me the EDU, EDB, and export_units that would be very helpful.

Could you clarify what you mean by EDU and EDB?
Also, I just gave them mercenaries to recruit, so my export_units won't be of much help.

    EDU = export_descr_unit
    EDB = export_descr_buildings

Don't worry about it, I think I have everything I need. I will strt coding after I finish the graphics.

    I love this mod!
I normally have a problem staying with one mod, but this one has held my interest for such a long time. The best part is the starting date. The player starts in the era in which the game has the most unique and different troops, not to mention the detailed mercenaries, as opposed to the general early mercs: crossbowmen and spearmen.

I got alot done this weekend. The Armenians have been added to the descr_strat, along with all the associated banners and shields. I used Alpaca's sd converter to create a new file to hold the coats of arms for the new factions.

All the strat units are done as well (general, diplomat, princess, etc) .

I also started adding units, this is what the roster looks like to far:

    Peasants
    Town Militia
    Spear Militia
    Peasant Archers
    Archer Militia
    Armenian Archers
    Armenian Spearmen
    Armenian Akritai
    Caucasian Mountaineers
    Azats
    Nakharars
    Dismounted Nakharars
    Bodyguards

The starting leader is Oshin Hetumian, and Levon is the heir.

I will post a preview soon...

The "greek_bodyguards" appear in the game as "Bodyguards" (it doesn't say greek in-game). They are the same bodyguard unit used by the Byzantines.

This is all going into the next patch, and will also be included in the Early expansion (when I release it).

    amen to that......

The starting leader is Oshin Hetumian, and Levon is the heir.
if the mod starts in 1080 it should be .....roupen as king and gosdantin as prince...the hetoumians came to power 150 years after the roupenian dynasty...but in deed they where a important noble (nahkarar) family before they rose to power

and the name of the armenian faction should have been armenian cilicia (some say cilician armenia that's wrong)...

my english isn't perfect but i'll try to explain this:

cilicia was armenian = Armenian Cilicia
armenia was cilician = Cilician Armenia

i know that some refer to armenian cilicia as lesser armenia but i think it's wrong

maybe someone can enlighten me? if i'm wrong....share the knowledge......

    short info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesser_Armenia

    besides that everything look awesome....

I know it sounds odd, but the Armenians should have the ability to gain Templar and Hospitaller guild halls. They Templars and Hospitallers both gave Armenian Kings soldiers as Armenia was seen as the last Christian Bastion in the east.
